Dexamethasone is a very potent corticosteroid. I've had 8mg whilst I was in neurosurgery to have a shunt installed. I was taking 50mg of prednisolone daily for 10 days and then slowly tapered down to 5mg which I'm taking now. The stuff sucks big time, with all sorts of depressing side effects that really only benzos like clonazepam can make me feel better. It's nasty stuff and the sooner I can get off of it the better.
But then I'm dealing with some bizarre autoimmune dysfunction that happens to be raping my ears - my hearing is one of my most prized sensory functions and having it systematically destroyed piece by piece is incredibly heartbreaking.
