I just wanted to check in with everyone and put out a little Public service announcement. Stop the violence. On December 5th I was shot in the back and now I'm paraplegic. They say I'll never walk again. If you're sellin dope and livin the fast life, make sure you don't leave any bases uncovered. I did and now I'm payin for it. I live in Atlanta and on that night I was supposed to be picking up $900 that was owed to me. Instead I was set up. I pulled into the parking lot I was supposed to meet buddy at and less than a minute later I heard a tap on my window. When I looked up I was staring down the barrel of a 45 caliber semi automatic pistol. All I could think about was keepin the girl I was riding with safe. I threw the car in first gear, threw my arm and shoulder over her, and slammed on the gas (hoping he wouldn't really shoot in front of all the people that were around). Well, he did. The bullet entered behind my left shoulder blade, punctured a lung, and lodged in my spinal canal. Instantly I was paralyzed. I was unable to pick my foot off the gas and the parking lot we were in sat up approximately 15 foot higher than the ground below it. The car surged forward and shot threw a chain link fence and over the retaining wall. Some apartments were below, and we slammed into the side of them before hitting the ground.
The wreck totaled the 2007 Chrysler Crossfire I was driving. When the car came to a stop I could still smell the smoke from the gunshot. The airbag was deflating and the horn wouldnt stop. I couldnt get out of the car and it was smoking heavily. When I was dragged out of the car by bystanders, I had a lot of blood on my lungs. My mouth quickly filled with blood and I was having a lot of throuble breathing. I was dying basically. Clothes were soaked in blood. Police were attempting to ask me questions and paramedics were telling me not to talk as to conserve my energy. I was able to ask a paramedic if he thought I would die. He told me that honestly he didn't know and that I was in critical condition. I was in the trauma unit for a day and a half and was sent to ICU just following that, where I spent almost two weeks. They said my spinal cord was severed at T2, almost the highest level of paraplegia there is. After I got out of the hospital they sent me to Sheperd Spinal clinic where I completed physical therapy. I'm still going to outpatient but I'm home.
I have daily pain now and still have panic attacks a lot. It's fucked my head up a bit. I'm in a wheel chair now and have learned to get around pretty well but I'm only 21 and life will never be the same. I typed the short version of this because I'm in hurry to get somewhere. Theres a few videos on the internet of news clips pertaining to all this too.
