I have injected these 60mg ms contins many times, most of the time, filtering only with cotton. These are definately amoung the most dangerous pills to shoot, all pills being quite unhealthy to begin with. Although I got away with it, i would not suggest it to anyone, unless the are equipted with a micron filter, an know how to use it. By luck i never encountered any serious problems, although i had 2 "cotton-fever" like experiences from shooting these pills, and the cotton was sterile, unused in the box. I am convinced this was a result of the extremely high particulate content of the solution, and the large amounts of wax, which made good carriers for bacteria . I have never experienced cotton fever from injecting any other drugs besides ms contin. Maybe my system treated the particulates as bacteria, and caused the fever, but theoretically its more probable that is was some bacteria.
Despite how stupid it was for me to be shooting ms contin without micron filters, it would be simply idiotic if I had tried to IM it. This could easily result in a serious infection, which untreated could result in the loss of the limb, or blood poisoning etc. If i were to shoot morphine again, it would be an MSir filtered through a .2ug filter. I will never shoot an ms contin again.
I've had liver panels since shooting all those ms contins and oxycontins(and dilaudid to a lesser extent), and luckly the enzyme levels are normal. Still, who knows how much insolubles like sand, talc and wax is imbedded in my lungs. I wonder if there is a way to clean out ones lungs. im not aware of any methods............
Bottom line, dont IV this drug unless you have a micron filter, and you know what your doing (which i have a feeling you dont), and for godsakes, dont even think about IM'ing.
