So after all this bs happened with fake xanax and feeling like total crap I got a new dr and they gave me 1 xanax at night then they had my follow up appointment wrong so I seen the actual dr today which was totally against 1 mg of xanax because I'm on a total of 8 mgs of bup. She gave me a low dose of 50mg of trazadone and a very low dose of olazapine and of course I have the gabapentin and sertraline and see me in a week. Truthfully my tolerance is 2 mgs of zans at night and f the rest. After losing my mom in March and 4 others since March I just wanna get a babysitter and get plastered for a weekend. Question should I go back to the dr who gave me the valuim even tho they don't work??
Sertraline is Zoloft an SSRI, are you sure you want to be long term on an SSRI? They say, lol, discontinuation syndrome. In plain English: Long term acute withdrawals. Suicide and a whole list of other side effects. Go to drugs.com( it is not a druggie site, it is a mainstream and from what I have read a good reputable site). Or go to similar mainstream site and read about potential side effects and decide if it is right for you.
Call me paranoid but an anti depressant with suicide as a very real possible side effect, ah you decide.
Also the 50mg of trazadone is an off lable use and it has worked for me. Though anti depressants scare me, even if the anti depression dose is around 300mg to 400mg after a starter dose.
My doctor( He is great and knowledgeable) assured me it wasn't an SSRI and a low dose at night is nothing too worry about. It works when I take them.
The olazapine, did you mean olazanpine or Zeprexa? It is an Anti psychotic and for schizophrenia and acute mania in people with acute mania related to manic depression.
A zombie drug with very very bad possible side effects. Tardive dyskinesia; uncontrolled permanent loss of control of facial muscles, did she tell you about that or the long list of horrible side effects. Sticking your tongue out, grimacing and chewing nothing permanently? Along with a whole slew of other bad side effects. Check out drugs.com or a similar reputable site and decide if it is right for you.
If you are not schizophrenic or have acute mania related to bipolar disorder, ah check out drugs.com and read the list of horrible possible side effects. Then decide if it right for you.
There is this horrible trend among shrinks and gp's who will give out anti depressants and anti psychotics to patients to avoid anything that is scheduled and avoiding benzos, especially Xanax. Also there are other meds that can help that are not as risky. Because of these damn politicians on both sides passing laws to terrorize doctors people are being put on non scheduled inappropriate meds, because she is scared. Read about Zoloft or sertaline
( same thing) and SSRI's in general and research it and decide if it is right for you. Check all potential side effects. Then decide what is right for you.
As far as a Shrink goes you might want too considering a new one and ask for options, write them down and research. Xanax is not handed out like it use to be. I was on 2mg of Ativan 3 times a day for 6-7 years, I voluntarily switched to a weaker 10mg x 3 times aday dose of Valium and 1mg Ativan=10mgs of Valium. So 60mgs of Valium equivalent. Now half that.( My choice)
You could feel the difference but there are serious addiction potential and same with clonazepam or k-pins which people seem to love and those 2 are stronger than Valium and prescribed more easily. But talk to a doctor to figure out what is right for you.
However, they come with a serious risk of physical dependcy and should be used short term.
Yes, I am being hypocritical but, I was given a year to live, 9 years ago. So I also got morphine( no more, my choice, less pain) and oxycodone.
You need to find a good doctor and research the meds. Only you and a good doctor can find out what is right for you. Look up and research, but be careful about being forceful or too knowledgeable, unless you know that this is not right for you. Hopefully you can find a good doctor and he will help figure out the right meds for you.
