Just fyi, the reason we always feel so ashamed, helpless, pathetic, depressed throughout opiate withdrawal typically isn't because "feelings are coming to the surface" or because of actual shame, it's all about dopamine. Slaveoxone (Suboxone) and all opiates control the brain's ability to create dopamine when they're taken long term. You take away the opiate, you take away the dopamine, and you feel like complete and absolute hell. For me, the mental depression is 1,000 worse than any physical discomfort.
However, there are things you can do to help combat this. For example, here's my current regiment: Megadoses of Vitamin C (this is new for me this time), Bali/Maeng Dai/Super Indo kratom mix, large amounts of loperamide, 5HTP, tyrosine, Calcium-magnesium, Omega-3 fatty acids.
The best thing about all of these (except Kratom in certain states) is that they're over the counter and can relieve up to 95% of your mental and physical anguish. There are answers out there to help you! You don't have to suffer through this entirely.
