TDS Im a Homeless Junkie Who Is So Desperate and Miserable :(

and theseeker I cant reduce anymore man. I go down 1mg once in a while. BUt like Im in constant wd anyway and i fucking hate it. thats whats worse than anything. WD that never ends. suboxone isnt covered and how is replacing one opiate for another going to help?

Suboxone is an opiate but doesn't hit the receptor in your brain 'full on' as much as methadone. It's called a 'partial agonist'. Supposedly it's easier to step down off of than many other opiates. I'll let you know as I start subutex on Monday. Supposedly it keeps you out of withdrawal but doesn't really get you high. It's also supposed to have some anti-depressant properties.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that I know what it's like to be in w/d all the time by stepping down. It does indeed suck, but if you're determined you can do it. I have no experience with methadone though.....

Suboxone definitely gets you high, I take it recreationally quite often. It is in ways a more enjoyable long-lasting stimulating drug than Methamphetamine, whilst being an opiate too. So definitely be careful about giving someone the advice that it won't get you high. Whether is a better choice than methadone is something I do not know.

OK, good to know. I heard from many people that if you take it everyday- like after the third day, it doesn't get you high anymore. I'm about to find this out, though, as I start on Monday. I know in certain parts of Europe it's a big-time recreational drug- particularly when injected. I'm going on anecdotal reports here.

Correct /\ ...once you are on it regularly it generally stops producing euphoria. I was on the Butrans patch so I was getting low doses round the clock continuously. The first several days it did feel great and it was extremely stimulating. I cleaned my house from top to bottom for like 3 days straight and slept very little. But shortly after that those effects stopped. I then just felt "normal" (whatever the hell that is). At higher doses such as in replacement therapy it is a partial agonist. But at lower doses such as is given for pain management it acts more like a full agonist. But once you have been on it long enough continuously and have worked your way down to those smaller doses due to your tolerance you won't get that "high" feeling.
