Illinois HS: Hair drug test for all students

Control of traditional drugs will just make new, as yet untestable (cheaply) drugs. Bet 2CI wouldn't show up, or fentanyl, or MDPV....

So basically what they're saying is that students that don't want to go to catholic school now have a way out? And also that we should expect to see more catholic schoolgirls with short hair (oh please oh please)? There is no part of this news I don't like, also one more reason for people to get fed up and abandon catholicism young.

eh, whatever, private school. they also make the kids participate in a ritual where the high point of the event involves symbolically consuming the flesh and blood of their dead religious leader.. thats a little more disturbing than drug testing imo ;)
So true.. I remember even as a little kid in church, before I knew anything about atheism or agnosticism or even Judaism, I remember thinking that church was odd.. I had to dress up and look all nice and listen to a boring guy talk about odd stuff and eat cardboard. The whole concept is just weird. I will never understand religion.

My dad would have been all for this...until they asked him to pay $55 for it.

this is really fucked up. thank god public schools can't do this. My school doesn't even test for extracurricular or sports programs, but they do have breathalyzers on hand for major after school events. Oh well, its a private school, can't do anything about it.

Its not support its forced you idiots

^ Great point. Also, what if they don't want to say 'no'? Isn't that what experimenting is about? 8)

And aren't they sort of undermining the Catholic doctrine? You should say "no" to drugs because that's What Jesus Would Do and not because you'll get pinned later by the less-than-divine school administration.

Besides, what better tools than drugs for getting in some practice resisting the Devil's temptations? I have respect for people who abstain from drugs because they are "evil" but I have none for people who do because they are afraid of a drug test. ;)

^
I know plenty of people on papers that abstain due to drug tests. I wouldn't say that I have "no respect." Some people are in situations where using just isn't worth the consequences of getting caught.

^^^^ Note the winkie. You know you can't take me literally... :D

1) wow Marian isn't in chicago.

2) Marmion Academy in Illinois has been doing random schoolwide hairtesting since 2001

3) Joliet Catholic Academy, the best football highschool in the state, was the target of a big heroin/fentanyl sting (with a fake woman cop posing as a student) back in 2005/6, and they mandated hair drug testing after that.

... and the real mind fucker is that now the football team is the best its ever been.

ah man, i didn't think catholic schools could suck more.

they'll change their mind after they actually start losing students. that's bad for business, and private schools are business.
