So I seen people were getting arrested for growing. I thought states can give you more rights than the federal government has already as long as it doesn't violate the constitution because the tenth amendment? I tried looking into it and the only thing I could find was maybe its because the commerce clause? I know I'm probably wrong from the beginning I have no idea that's why I'm asking here those are just some ideas I tried to come up with from what I read. Why is it actually illegal?

Federal law trumps state law.

What Lugo said. For confirmation, refer yourself to Article VI, Clause 2 in this link to learn about the United States' Supremacy Clause.

Shittyyyy, so posession is illegal too?

Technically but it really depends on quantity. The feds aren’t going to waste time and money going after someone that has an ounce for personal use most of the time. If we are talking about pounds then yes, it’s something you need to keep in mind.

technically, cannabis is still illegal everywhere in the USA. It's up the state if they want to prosecute. Then its up to the feds/DEA/big gov if they want to prosecute. Get real though, your odds of getting busted change dramatically depending on where you live, and by who.

Legality isn't the question. If I want to come to your house, tie you up/cuff you, and do whatever, I probably would (think sexual things! =D). That's an example of how police officers operate.

Lawyers go to school to learn laws, and police go to the police academy to learn how to become a professional bully.

Actually in my many experiences with the po po It seemed more like on A Clockwork Orange: That the bullies had found wonderful new employ as cops, able to freely excersise the long practiced bullying, but now paid/rewarded for it (to some degree) at the very least.

My point still stands though.

If a cop wants to try to convince you you're doing something illegal, despite what the laws actually were intended to mean or actually mean, they'll try to convince you of it, if you don't know better.

Oh, absolutely, they don't even need to know the law, most cops simply seem to know when whatever I'm doing doesn't seem right. After all, it is the judge's job to figure it all out, cops just toss ya in jail.

Let's avoid talking about how to avoid the law etc or get out of that sorta thing. This topic fits best in the MEGA grow thread, so please continue any conversation about this there. Thank you!
