My first idea is... We need a group for chronic pain sufferers. For this group we need to make a deal with a School of Massage to have some of their students work on each of our clients once a week. We will need to ask the clients to sign ROIs, so that counselors can improve service through direct communication with their primary care physicians. We can still treat without this idea, but it seems like it would be an advantage to involve their doctor in the recovery process.
What else would you do to offer excellent and original services?

I LOVE that idea!
I would offer a day care service for parents that are seeking out patient services!
I don't really know of any that have that and would help a lot of people to be able to attend.

it's interesting to me that this thread didn't get more activity. for days i've been eyeing it, trying to think of something i could add. fuck, it's really hard! i'm guessing the BL silence on the matter is b/c other people found that, too.

Yeah same here. Ill give it a go though.

I would split up the patients who are court ordered to IOP from the people who went to inpatient rehab and are in IOP after treatment. I would do this because I found it really weird talking about my heroin addiction with a bunch of people who got busted for weed or a DUI and are just there to complete there time. I also felt like the counselors where used to having the leverage of the courts to make people compliant and took on a more punitive attitude towards treatment. That really turned me off from the IOP program.

I would also be very open to referring opiate addicted patients to suboxone and methadone treatment providers if they are struggling with relapse.
