If you ran a drug forum, how would you name and set up the forums and their sub forum

There are a few forums pertaining to drug use on the internet and they all have very unique formats.

I was wondering what the members (who really make this forum what it is) would do if they ran their own drug forums? Why would you run it that way?

Personally, mine would go like this:

General
-General
-Media
-Legal
Psychedelics
-Phenethylamines
-Tryptamines
-Others
Stimulants
-Amphetamines
-Cocaine
-other
Downers
-opioids
-benzos
-alcohol
-marijuana


Or something along those lines. I think it is better to group drugs by their effects.


How would you run your own forum if you had one?
 
Marijuana isn't neccesarily a downer, that's only with the indica strains. Sativa strains are psychadelic uppers. But I think bluelight's forum categorization is the best. It could use a opiate/narcotic subcategory, because most threads in other drugs seem to be about them.
 
I dont really see how this fits in DC....honestly i dont know where this fits at all

Ill let the senior staff take a wack at it over in homeless.
Senior staff, feel free to send back if you think DC really is the place for this.
 
After discussion with Thizzerfershizzer, shifting back to Drug Culture :)

Probably the best place for it as it doesn't really fit in the focus forums or the social or regional forums.

only thing i'd do differently is change OD to an opiate discussion, benzo discussion and then all the other drugs in OD can fall under OD, just my .02 cents
 
your list is good but I think ecstasy deserves its own subforum too, under stimulants
 
Ya i agree with pretty every aspect of how Bluelight is run but I really think we need a separate Opiate/Opioid section for sure!
 
Hmmm...

By over-clarifying without fully understanding certain nuances (i.e. your "Psychedelics") you've actually under-clarified what belongs where which would leave to much of your board being in shambles over people arguing where things should be posted.

The IUPAC name 'phenethylamine' encompasses a large number of compounds to be headed solely under psychedelics (from amphetamines to the various 2c-b analogues to MDMA which is widely classified - and in my own personal opinion - as an empathogen).

Bluelight's distinctions are apt enough in my opinion, with the possible exception of splitting Other Drugs into opiates and amphetamines.

Also, I note you've got an opioid section but no opiate section? So you've a place for discussion about synthetic opiates (e.g. fentanyl) but not for natural opiates (e.g. morphine)?

And I'd have a Disassociative section for alcohol, ketamine, and PCP.
