This is a poem I had to reconstruct a little bit, but AJ asked me to post this since I mentioned it in another thread. This goes out to survivors. And to those who didn't have the chance.
Untitled.
---------
You never had a name though you gave me one.
In the echo of a stranger's heartbeat
miracles found their way to blood.
Your small world unseen, future paralyzed.
You were my pipe and slippers and a ball
through a fence. You were my dancer
on a dim, proud stage. You were my name,
and my heart, and I was your security.
I was not the strength. I was not the name.
Your tides ran low inside the warm gone cold.
I couldn't scare away the night, and I couldn't see myself. I was gone with a hose.
I keep you, in my heart, alive.
If you had lived, would you have had my eyes?
