friend just mentioned this to me today after saying thats how he got sober. i am going on vivitrol or subox on Tuesday but just read about this and seems to be great, even tho illegal here in US. i have no intention of ordering/trying it but wondering if anyone here has? shocked to just hear of this today but after reading it seems to have a great success rate. wondering why illegal in so many countries?

I have read up on this in the past, and it does seem like it has the potential to someday be recognized as a 'miracle drug' in the battle against drug addiction..
I guess because of its psychedelic nature, its legal status remains in the same category as drugs like DMT. Even though it can be greatly beneficial to addicts in withdrawal, it can also be mis used for the wrong reasons by people in the community.
The Internet does say scientists are trying to recreate a drug which does the same stuff, without the psychedelic and dissociative sideeffects.. Let's hope they come through with a safe, legal product some time soon!

I just got back from doing in in Costa Rica it does work, i would def recomend it

any else try it? any other stories?

totach - can you tell us more?

i am on subs now and doing well.. but still always open to anything to get me completely away from opiates/drugs.

I've done it and not only did it take away my alcohol dependence, it also cured some underlying mental disorder. It works by resetting your brain to pre-using state. Gives you a window where you have no cravings, no monkeys in the mind, no withdrawals.....

Use this window to work out a plan for the rest of your life.

That said, iboga does not give you a "fun" trip.

It pisses me off that thanks to prohibition, most of us opiate addicts will never get to try ibogaine, a drug that can apparently eliminate withdrawal symptoms, stop compulsive behaviour patterns, and help people overcome fears...it really pisses me off. Thanks for posting the docu btw.

Obviously, ibogaine should only be administered in the right therapeutic context; this is powerful drug, after all. I'm just so gutted I'll probably never be able to obtain it.
