i was drugged

no he didn't as he didn't drink from the beer after it had been on the bench

Some of these stories make me feel kind of edgy, but overall I think everyone (except the ones with real stories) is overreacting; including the people who disbelieve it. Yes, rape can happen to men. Yes, some guys are "evil" and seek to destroy your self by overpowering you. Yes, you have to watch your ass (pun intended). Yes, if you worry about being raped a lot you are silly and possibly entertaining homoerotic thrill-stories in your head.

Emmz I think it's going too far when you down an illicit amphetamine off black market, get sick and then assume someone spiked your drink. It sounds like you're trying to shift the blame to this random stranger because it will make you feel better.

Why would the guy spike a drink with only a mouthfull in the beer? Makes no sense.

Sorry but it just annoys me as just about every girl I've met has their own 'drink spiked' story, and most if not all are crap. Hell I've seen some chick down a bottle of vodka in 10mins, pass out and munt then only to wake up a few hours later telling everyone her drink was spiked. Why? Once again it passes on the responsibilty to some unknown person and her friends then would'nt have thought that she was an idiot and drank too much.... when in fact she was. I swear some girls even say they had their drinks spiked just so that it sounds like someone wanted them (sort of like creating the false notion that they are attractive).

^^I'm sorry but that is one of the most horrible, insensitive replies i have read in a long time. I think you should have a think about what it would actually be like to be drugged and raped before over-analysing drink-spiking stories...

somebody tried to kill my brother with ghb (he's a heavy drinker) so rape isnt the only motive i'll never forget when these girls i was with (complete pillheads) had their drinks spiked with mdma they had already taken some mda so it just made them charge harder n they were running round the whole club asking who spiked their drinks shudv owned up sucka u wudv gotten laid (with consent) hahaha

Someone close this thread for the love of God

before I lose control of my body and begin to rape left and right....

This is one thing that bothers me about this site. Is whenever there is negativity or bad consequences associated with drug usage, especially when it comes to ecstasy, or the rave scene, there's always a ton of people to jump into the thread and dismiss it as lies or "misinformation".
and now alot of you are saying that drink spiking and rapings don't occur? Please!
I admit, there would be a few cases where an individual has had a few too many drinks and had a bad experience, then tried to point to the nearest person as the culprit for how trashed they got that night, but to say that rapings aren't heard of s a pretty fucked up thing.

Drugged

Hi Emmz,

I'm sorry to hear about this bad episode. Please let us know how your next liver test turns out?

^ Precisely. All the available data shows that in the vast majority of "drink spiking" claims, alcohol was the sole intoxicant.

HOWEVER (note emphasis) this does not negate the following:
1. Always always ALWAYS keep one eye on your drink and your friends' drinks.
2. If you have *any* doubt that your drink may have been tampered with, discard it immediately and buy a new one. Trust me, it's worth the few bucks.
3. Look after yourself first and your friends second, and encourage them to do the same.

If you don't practice the above, you are complicit in whatever happens to you. I'm not saying it's wrong to go out and get messy - but if you leave yourself open to predators, you need to at least take some responsibility and say "well fuck, that was stupid of me, I won't make that mistake again". If you need a babysitter, take one.

I say this with the kindest of hearts and as a rape victim myself and as someone who inadvertently let a friend get G'd up and then gang-raped by a pack of bikies. So, y'know, the love is there. Just learn from the experience and move on.

I have tried a fewe sources but yet to find anything, maybe i'm the niave one but i've never heard fo seen of such a thing.

I was about to ask the exact same thing. :|

Emmz - glad to hear you are okay. there are some really twisted units out there.

one thing I would like to clarify..

they said they didn't test for other drugs appart from speed, mdma, cocaine, ghb ect. but i had some major liver damage.

You say they didnt test you for anything other than the above stated substances, yet you had major liver damage.

I find it very difficult to understand why a doctor would discharge you, if he did not find a cause for your internal injuries, if they are major.

Liver damage is HIGHLY life threatening, and I struggle to understand why you would have only been tested for such drugs like MDMA, speed, coke and GHB when you had revealed you had taken speed already and the other drugs do not have the desrcribed effect in small doses.

Were you tested for Rohypnol?

A few years ago at [a big event] on NYE, a good mate and I took speed, and danced for a few hours, then drank about 5 shots each over a few more hours, then went outside for a break and ciggarette. We were thirsty and got our water bottle mixed up with a 'discarded' bottle - it was half full - ours was half full too. (there were lots of bottles scattered over the grass). So we just shrugged and picked a random one, as we had done many times at rave clubs and never had a problem before.

A few hours later my mate was completely fucked, ramdom sentances, could not understand what i was saying, throwing up continually, and could hardly walk straight. From a guy who drank every night for over 10 years. It was very hard to get him home.

When we got home, he settled down and went to bed and slept. I started feeling very bad, and head spinning, very groggy, and started throwing up non stop for 2 fucking hours, lots of bile, disgusting, and i called the ambulance, and they took me to hospital and had to give me a shot of something and IV saline, and watched me for about 6 hours while i raved shit at the nurses who were not amused at my drug rambling. (it was very good speed - 1 point lasted a whole night)

We can both drink half a bottle of vodka each and walk in a straight line, so it was not the alcohol. We had the exact same speed from the same bag at least 5 times before, so it was not that.

I suspect it was GHB in the water bottle, but it could have been anything i guess.

I learnt my lesson the hard way. Now i guard my water bottle, and will not share it with strangers. I usually sneak in a water bottle with a different lable nowadays, in case i put it down while dancing and it gets mixed up with other bottles.

I believe Emmz

EDIT: Venue and promoter details removed. hoptis

Sooo....why did the dude "spike" a beer that only had a mouthful left in it? That's what I wanna know. Surely the mouthful would have tasted strange if that was all that was in it plus the aleged "mickey"

Hmmm....

dunno if this has been posted before....

AN increasing number of men are having their drinks spiked and then being mugged or sexually assaulted, NSW Police said.

Detective Superintendent David Laidlaw, commander of the NSW Drug Squad, said men should be as wary of drink spiking as women.
"It's a misnomer that it doesn't happen to men, because it does," he said.

"The largest number of drink-spiking complaints obviously involve women, but there's been an increase in allegations from men over the last two years."

In one recent case, a solid, 192cm-tall man accepted a drink from a stranger in a city bar and, a short time later, found himself feeling disoriented.

"Five minutes before I'd been fine and talking business, and instantly, I couldn't stand up, I felt dizzy and I had real trouble getting up the stairs," said the man, a senior business executive who declined to be named.

When he made it to the street, the drink buyer materialised, helped him into a cab and joined him for the ride home.
"It took me a while to realise there was someone in the cab with me, because I'd virtually passed out by this stage," the victim said.

When he reached home in Bellevue Hill, the victim was knocked to the ground after leaving the cab.

The assailant managed to steal his wallet and was scrabbling to get his $5000 Cartier watch off his wrist when a neighbour intervened. The attacker fled.

"I'm lucky it wasn't worse, I could have been hurt," the victim said. "At the end of the day, I didn't really lose anything, just some cash.

"I was just amazed that they were brazen enough to get into the taxi. I'm a big guy, but it didn't matter to them."

"Mostly it's a case of guys being rolled, but there have been incidents of sexual assaults on men," Det Laidlaw said.

"Men need to be wary, and not accept drinks from anyone, or leave their drinks unattended, because these people are looking for easy marks."
