I want to start taking therapy sessions, on psychedelics

Maybe you would have luck with therapists who have lost their license or have flunked their degree / cant get that license for some reason. Though the obvious question then is: is that person competent?
Perhaps competent in a way that would be called alternative so much that licensed psychologists reject them... if they are alternative and without license anyway there is none to lose either.

I think it can be a good thing with the right approach but it can also become a real disaster. I highly recommend extra low doses, you don't want to trip balls there... it seems quite inappropriate.

Can I (mega) merge this? Psychedelic therapy that must be a central topic. All the loose scraps of parallel discussion don't seem to really add something. Unless you have a good reason why your case is special. ;)

Well, I don't really see the point of psychedelic psychotherapy. I mean, psychedelics can be a really great tool in hands of professional, but are there many such professionals? Also, I don't understand why do you obsessed with your idea. Psychedelics are indeed great, so why not take them alone?
I second SKL:

The idea of tripping before/after the sessions might be productive,as might talking about trips, especialy with a sufficiently open-minded therapist. But tripping during the therapy session without the therapist's knowledge, or asking the therapist to do something manifestly illegal, both are inappropriate in the therapeutic relationship and boundary transgressions that will ultimately be counterproductive.

For answering your question, i've been thinking that LSD could be a little too forgiving for this. I thing something with a stronger "mental load"/"mindfuck" could be even better. Maybe 2c-e. Although LSD is a great drug for introverted trips, it could get too friendly/playful and just become useless (or less useful) than others.
Why do you think Shulgins used mostly MDMA and sometimes 2C-B in their psychotherapy?
In my opinion, 2C-E is not the best tool for your purposes. I'd stick to halogenated 2Cs or maybe gentlier tryptamines.

Am I right that you have no experience with psychedelics? If yes, then denitely start with something less powerful than 2C-E. Trips depend on you, your mind and your setting and not on just substance you took.

I suggest LSD without any shrink or doctor because they wouldn't understand what is going on with you at that time anyway. Maybe try finding a therapist that likes a litte alice herself now and then hehe :)

I'd probably become psychotic if I tried something like that..Especially with my social phobia. I prefer tripping alone.
