Ok so I walk for graduation May 18th.
After graduation I want to leave the state and go somewhere preferably a long term rehab. And by long term I mean 3 months, basically to cover the entire summer.
If I can't do that I was thinking about driving to the nearest "buddhist colony" to live for a few months. I'm not even sure what Im refering to here but I saw on current tv an episode where opiate addicts moved somewhere far out into the middle of the mountains, and lived with buddhists while they kicked for a few months. The entire time I was watching it I was thinking "this is just what I need". It was nothing fancy actually quite the opposite. People slept in shitty little netted tents, walked around barefoot, but there was a lot of potential to interact with nature and just be at peace with life.
I'm really really consider the fact that I just want to leave and not tell anyone untill a week or 2 after I am gone. I'll call from whereever I am and break the news then.
Is there any esoteric types of places like this in the states? I'll get a plane ticket if need be but I'd rather not spent $14,000 just to stay there for 2 weeks (like carrier clinic in NJ did to me).
Has anyone done anything like this? I need a spiritual revolution and am thinking about doing it this summer.
edit: ps I know of places like turning point, straight and narrow, new hope, epiphany house etc in NJ. But I'm looking for something actually less formal that wouldn't be infiltrated with court mandated chip on shoulder types. Every time I look at the ads for those places you see a bunch of criminal looking kids who don't even seem to be taking the place seriously.
I'm trying to get into something nature oriented, that is much more serious, but at the same time not so formal.
