Bupe I.V. and I.M. dosages of buprenorphine for heroin withdrawal

I am currently going through heroin withdrawal and I have (well had) two .3 mg vials of buprenorphine. I injected about 3/4ths of the first vial I.M. and I am not experiencing as much relief as I anticipated. My legs still hurt quite a bit. Did I dose too low? Is the dose for IV different? I just want to know how best to use these vials for help with withdrawal.

That is a pretty small dose, even given your situation and the fact that you took it I.M. If I remember correctly, at least one guideline recommends starting heroin detox at 6mg buprenorphine, and decreasing from there daily. Taken orally, 6mg of bupe would give you about 2mg. Which is still nearly ten times as much as you took.

I just don't think that .6mg is anywhere near enough to do a detox with.

I tried to IV some moer but I couldnt find a vein so I I.M.ed it.

The IM route lasts considerably longer.
