I think my byfriend abuses his medications

I joined to learn more about Xanax because I have noticed a terrible drop in his functioning and sex drive lately. He is also coming off methadone and before he filled his prescription for Xanax, he was much more alert and we actually touched each other. I am rather disgusted by pills but I do not want to judge. I need suggestions on how to talk to him about it because I am also pregnant and feel like he is cheating on me with drugs. I noticed he searched Xanax and soma..I don't know what soma is but I hope it is not an opiate! If anyone can help, I would appreciate it. :?
 
Hi. Soma is not an opiate, it's a muscle relaxant on its own.

Xanax dependency can be severe or not, depending on the dose. It can disturb functionning and sex drive at any dose. I would ask him frontly about that, telling him you won't judge him.

Whether he is abusing them or not, you should ask him directly. We can't tell just by what you've said, as we've never seen him before taking and after. Some people do just become "zombified" with Benzos.
It could potentially be down to coming off of the Methadone, assuming he was prescribed it for an extended period.

well if your pregnant and hes on drugs first thing you need to consider is that he should be wearing a condom. the drugs can get in his seamen and might reach your fetus. second of all his doctor is prescribing him the drugs for a reason. if it is a lack of intimacy that is bothering your subconscious i recommend asking him if he has noticed the change in your sex life then recommend that he talk to his doctor about getting someone prescribed that will bring it back. thats the thing with these weird meds out there. im on some stuff that gives me premature ejaculations sometimes. its the weirdest thing ive ever experienced.
