I think im haveing an anxiety attack after having Amphetamines. PLEASE HELP

I shoot up amphetamine just about everyday. At 7pm i had 3 points and everything was fine, At 3am i shot another 3 points and my eyes went all blurry, light headed, blacking out, couldn't walk properly and everything seemed to be moving really slowly. Its been 45 minutes since and iv only just started feeling normal again except a burning feeling in my arm down to my fingures. This is the second time its happened in the last 2 weeks except this time seemed worse. I am haveing an anxiety attack or something worse ?? Should i still be worried ??

Scared me enough to never touch drugs again, Third time round might not be so lucky!!

I'm not into stimulants but I clicked here because I think I have experienced something similar.

esp this part: "light headed, blacking out, couldn't walk properly and everything seemed to be moving really slowly"

I had taken 10mg 4HOMET + 10mg 4ACODMT and all was fine. After 3hours I redosed 10mg 4HOMET and 5mg 4ACODMT. 3hours after this (that's the weird thing, the peak was already in full swing for 2-3 hours, these
effects showed up. I really thought I was going to die, and the only thing I could think of was how my parents would find my house (and the stash, ...). This didn't unsettle me, it just made me extremely sad. I have felt my ego die a few times on mushrooms and so, but this was nothing like it. I didn't like the feeling. I also had pain in my left arm. Heart rate was 120, elevated for sure, but not critically so. I stumbled to my shower, showered for 10seconds but it was too intense. I laid down on my bad, saw all the colors and shapes there are in the universe and then had an extremely strong urge to pee. While peeing, I noticed I am "clear" again, and could enjoy the comedown of my trip.

At the time I thought it was a panic attack too, although I could compose if I needed to. When looking back, I think it was more something like low blood pressure ?

IME, that doesn't sound like a panic attack. I lost count long ago how many panic attacks I've had, but they all exhibited the same symptoms; quite different from yours. According to my shrink; well, three psychiatrists in total; I suffer from Panic Disorder.

I had a rather hardcore stimulant habit for several years and I began to end it when I experienced a massive (my first) panic attack (at the time, I was convinced I was having a heart attack - which, according to my shrink, is usually the case among those who are experiencing a full blown panic attack for the first time). My extremities became numb and/or tingly. My mouth became extremely dry, yet, I began to sweat profusely. My heart felt like it was going to explode out of my chest cavity. My joints (especially elbows and knees) buckled. I had a huge lump in my throat. Massive headache, dizziness, mild delirium, and hyperventilation. This is how I experience a panic attack.

However, it could of very well been a panic attack. Again though, it just doesn't sound like a typical panic attack (sorry, anxiety attack - aren't they the same thing?).

It's none of my business but - if you don't mind me asking - are you on any prescription medications?

And other than the amphetamine, do you use anything else (or did you use anything else recently)?

Lastly, do you have any medical problems (mental, physical or otherwise)?

Im pretty sure i read something once about Iv amps causing hystimine releases that could be what you are feeling. I get similar feelings on Mdma that has amps in it due to this, maybe try taking a benadryll and just waiting for it to pass. I think your decision to cut back might also be wise especially if this has happened before because there is really no way to tell what is happening without myself to experience it first hand. " Drugs are fun until there not, that's when you stop" Good luck to you friend and keep as posted so we know your alright.

OP, if drugs are causing you more problems than benefits, like your amphetamine habit in this case, it's time to just walk away. These stimulant-induced anxiety attacks will only get worse and worse. Have you considered dosing psychedelics, like LSD, to reflect on your own life, and to ask yourself why you are abusing amps in the first place? LSD also has a euphoric stimulant effect, so it will be "fun" as well as introspective.

I agree, it doesn't sound like your traditional panic attack, but if it scares you this much and makes you anxious, then it is causing you distress and anxiety nontheless.

Sounds exactly like the panic attack I had off of very powerful methamphetamine last night.

1) Breath deeply. Think about other things. Panic attacks never killed anyone. You will live to see another day. Tomorrow you will smile at how much you appreciate being alive.

2) Take aspirin and drink plenty of water. Eat a banana or bread. Carbohydrates and nutrients will ease the fear.

3) Treat this as a learning experience.

4) Do research on amphetamines. Learn about how dopamine release and high glutamate levels trigger panic attacks and high cortisol. It's in your brain. Not your body.

5) Invest more money in things like GHB or benzodiazepines. Having a safety net is EVERYTHING for an amphetamine user. Even if you're using them for practical purposes. There is no reason not to have xanax, clonopin, attivan, valium or GHB on you during amphetamine use.

6) Actually get your blood checked by a doctor and get an EKG on your heart to make sure you're still healthy. Amphetamines can cause damage to the heart and you need to be having routine check ups or else you may actually die.

OP, this is exactly what always happens to me on day 2/3 of a binge. All those symptoms are due to norepinephrine release and most of the more disturbing physical symptoms are as a result of Vasoconstriction. Its a normal side effect of amps and relatively "safe" (as safe as can be considered), but a sign that its time stop. The following can help. Stay hydrated, force yourself to eat, chelated magnesium and sleep.

If you have Mogadon, Valium or Restoril, take one and wait 15 minutes. Xanax will work too, but it may take a bit longer to kick in (30 mins).
