TDS I think I'm coming to a crossroads with coke.

So I had probably my worst ever binge with coke this past friday night.

Spent $220, did about 3.5 grams in one night. There were some incredible peaks that night, but one thing was made absolutley clear to me:

The compulsion to re-dose with coke is almost completely irresistable.

I had $300 in my account, only inteded to spend 100, after I came down off the first gram and a half I started freaking out at 3am and quickly hitched a cab downtown to buy more.

Between coke, booze and cabs, I spent about $300 that night.

And the comedown was pretty bad at the end. Usually when I combined with alcohol I don't get that bad of a comedown but this one was rough because I just did so much.

I've been doing coke about once or twice a week for a year now, and I really think it's time to stop.

I've been off cigarettes like 2 months now so I think I can safely quit booze now, and once I quit booze there's no reason to do coke (I don't like coke without booze).

I really need to do this, I'm feeling so confident now that I'm 2 months off cigs.

Anybody have any literature on quitting booze/coke you can reccomend?

Coke.
Ugh.
Such a headf**k of a thing.
I had a pretty gnarly problem with coke a while ago.
The only way I found I could overcome its hold was by talking in the open about it.. to my friends and my fiance.
Now that im clean, I can't believe how much hard earned money I threw away on that junk.
Coke really isn't worth the time you are giving it.
Listen to your heart, give up the crap :)

Ugh just thinking of coke gives me chills. I am one of those people who could just not handle the drug (especially the comedown) and would end up all manic panicking that I was gonna die and have a heart attack and crazy shit. The comedowns literally made me insane. The only relief would be another line, and then 15 minutes later the dread started coming back...another line... eeesshh dont even get me started about meth.

Just like me man, the comedown was too harsh. Plus the neverending cravings once you get started. If I had money, my "friends" were there to help me spend it. Crack was the end of it. I deleted every party person and dealer from my phone. Every now and then, I get calls to come out and party and I don't even pick up the phone. I just can't do it.

Two things...

1) congratulations on being 2 months clean from cigarettes. That's simply amazing, and shows you really are ready to quit using coke.

2) it should be easy for you to not use cocaine again. The best advice I can give you, is to plan something non-drug related that is fun for yourself, twice a week. Whether it be exercise, going out on a date, hanging out with friends, listening to or making music/art, cooking delicious food, maybe a sports/hobby, etc. - but whatever it is, make sure you have that time to yourself, and before you know it you'll be getting into real life again and will be so glad you quit.

Yeah, this is pretty much my plan, I'm trying to replace booze and coke with movies and videogames.

if it makes you feel any better, quitting cigs is harder for me than quitting other drugs (IV heroin addict for 3 years). you can do this. just remember how shitty blow made you feel at the end. we tend to remember all the "good times" and forget the times where we felt like we were gonna die/wish we would die.

That's the opposite for me. When I have it in near proximity it makes me ill and shiver just thinking about the comedowns. The high is never worth the comedown I've realized.

some people can do shit once in awhile and be ok, and other people can't. Took me along time to become sober but once I got it in my head I just can't do this stuff anymore it wasn't so hard. Just be truthfull with loved ones is all I can say, it helps a ton to have support. Also next time you do it write a note to your self (if your not to paranoid to write that kinda stuff down) write in code if you have to but write out how horrible it feels. I used find notes when I was younger saying (what the fuck man what are you doing stop im paying for this) sounds a bit crazy (which I was at the time) but you can do it bro. You'll feel better in the long run.. Just remember when want to use next time pull out that note read it and remind your self I decided to quit for a reason not to just go back to it.
good luck.

Smoking is a horrible habit. Quiting it has been the hardest fight of my life ever. Props if you did it already

if you find yourself using coke after you have made the decision to quit then i would try this it provided me with good ammunition to use against cravings for that white slut.. take a notebook and write how you feel using the coke will be... then after you have used the drug write how it really was. Use the same notebook and read your previous entries before you put another one in. Because coke beckons you with the promise that she will make you feel just like the first time. SHE LIES and her lies get worse and worse the longer you continue to see her. By writing her lies down as well as the reality of the situation you may become good at calling her on her bullshit before you end up paying all your money to hang out with that dirty skank once again. I also agree that you will have to quit the booze or you will end up hanging out with her any time you drink and have money. Best of luck.
