It's not an "immunity" because the immune system is not involved, nor does it have anything to do with your brain. It's the way that your body metabolizes opiates through the CYP450 system, which is determined genetically.
Opiates are metabolized through a variation in CYP2D6. If you have ultra-fast metabolizer status, it means you have multiple copies of this gene which means more of the related liver enzyme is produced, and the drug gets processed so fast that its pharmacology doesn't get to impact your body. If it's your entire CYP2D6 group and not just one sub-set, then you also might not experience effects from amphetamines, mushrooms, or LSD either, or you would need a much higher dose to feel anything.
I myself have multiple copies of CYP1A2, which I discovered through genetic testing. This group covers caffeine, which does nothing to me. I can drink 6 cups of coffee and feel nothing. Unfortunately, dental freezing is processed under the same enzyme, so when I get dental work done there's no way to numb my mouth.
