I think I got ripped off on a weed deal

I buy all my weed from this one kid who is trustworthy, and happens to be a good friend. All the shit he's sold me in the past has always been good, except today I about a 1/4oz off him for 70 bucks, and it looks totally legit, but it doesn't smell the weed usually does. And when I smoke it, it has a funny taste, not quite like weed, and I'm not really getting high from it.
The buds look totally normal, with some orangey leaves. Do you think this could be that fake shit you can buy out of High Times? If it is fake, I'm pretty certain that the kid I bought from was unaware of the fact, since he bought it off someone else. What do you guys think? I'm pretty pissed off about it now.
 
Look for a picture of the fake stuff on the internet and comapre it, most the internet sites you can purchase on should show you a picture of the "buds", it's really difficult for us to tell you if it's fake since we would not have any first hand experience with the product you had purchased, and I myself have never tried the legal supliments.

You should always smell an sometimes test weed before you buy it, if you can. If he's a good friend take it back to him.
 
Whoops, I forgot about the Psychedelic forum. But anyways, I'm really surprised because the weed looks perfectly normal, but seems to smell like tobacco.
 
you should everytime you buy weed , smoke with your dealer atleast a bowl, joint, blunt, bong etc etc, so if it is fake shit, it comes out than and he can't denie it =)
 
around where i'am located theres quarters for 100$ so it may of been really good bud..
 
I'm with influence on that one. Plenty of $90 and $100 quarters over here, but you're talking for the dankness now. If he's paying $70 for a quarter of *dank*, I would say he's doing well.
Of course, he just got bilked (although possibly accidently) for $70. Always test before you buy. See if you can return the weed: if you can, great! If not, you learned an important lesson the hard way.
Just out of curiousity, does anyone know what that fake weed is made out of?
 
Americans don't half pay a lot for drugs ... $20 for a pill, $70 for 1/4 weed ... I get 1/4s for £30 ($48ish).
 
Fake weed off the internet is herbs like catnip and other wierd shit. As best, you'll get a slight buzz like a cigarette.
The weed this guy bought was probably incorrectly grown. Without the right amount of nutrients and right type of nutrients, it won't get you too high. It will look dank as any other bud, may even smell slightly good, but won't get you high as much.
For good dank, all you have to look for is crystals, stickyness, and a very skunky smell. Be aware if the stems are too big or numerous.

My guess would be that it is pot that has been harvested too early. I recently harvested some, maybe a tad early. The very top of the plant had a lot more pistils that were white than the rest of the plant. What this means is that there will be a higher ratio of THC to CBN. Contrary to popular belief, it is CBN and the other canaboids that people most often speak of when they talk about getting high, rather than THC. THC is largely a cerebral thing, while the other canboids contribute to that heavy stoner high.
Anyway, to make a long story short, I've been smoking the top of this plant and was feeling like I wasn't getting too high from it. What I have discovered is that I am quite high from it, but the high isn't that heavy, sleepy high. I still get the loopy thinking patterns and blood shot eyes so I know I'm high. It's just a different high. I find this high to be great if with friends because it doesn't kill the conversation. But, if smoking alone I prefer the 'drool coming out of your mouth' high.
 
Thanks for the info guys. It's funny because the person I bought it from told me that he thought it was just picked, and I blew that off, figuring that he was just repeating what the dealer told him, I always take what these dealers say with a grain of salt. I guess it really was just picked, but picked too early like you guys said. When I smoked it I felt kind of different, but not really high like normal, but like I said the buds looked like regular "dank", (orange leaves etc.) oh well I guess I'll keep it and maybe use it in a recipe to get rid of it, and be more careful next time, since I didn't exactly get ripped off, I don't feel like complaining to the kid. Thanks again guys.
 
Blue Lava, did the plants that you had which were harvested too early... did they smell like weed? This bag smells nothing like weed normally smells. I just got home from work, so I'm gonna roll up a joint and see if I get high or not. Good thing I still have some known to be good quality bud left over

Hmmmm.... my guess is it should smell like pot because... it is pot (or should be). However, the smell can change. For instance, I keep my pot in a mason jar (the best possible place in lew of a zero G container). Anyway, I thought it was a bit dry; so, I put a couple of drops of water into the jar. Bad move. Those couple of drops were enough to cause a little bit of mold to develop. You couldn't see it, but I know it was there (as mold can be a common problem with pot). How I know it was there is because it alter the dank smell I'd usually encounter when I open the jar. Also, the taste was just a little off.
I'd do this. Pot, or not... it's not what you want. Tell the dealer this. Don't be a bitch and ask for your money back, or anything. But, let him know his product wasn't up to par. This way he'll feel he needs to get better product in general, and particularly to you. Nothing better than having a dealer feels he owes you. This, assuming you have a good relationship with him/her. Hope this helps.
 
i dont know about the beatnut. We found some herb growing that smelled great, was the stickiest weed i ever touched and had crystalys growing all over it. I thought we found someones field. But the shit didnt even get us high

If you picked that pot before 75-80% of the pistils had changed from white to brown/rust, then you'd probably not get much out of it.
