I rolled while on anti-depressants, how?

Being a tiny female of 106lbs, I've always had an abnormally low-tolerance to just about everything, but even-so I didn't think it was possible to roll on anti-depressants. Im only on 10mg of Paxil, but still, if I understand correctly it shouldn't really matter how low the dose. No?

Regardless,
I took what I was told to be a 190mg MDMA capsule, which was quite a high dose, but seeing as I was on anti-depressants I thought it wouldn't matter or that I'd need the extra mgs. I did this knowing I was on anti-depressants and that it probably wouldn't really affect me anyway. Why? Because I didn't pay for it, I was at a warehouse rave, and I didn't really give a shit at the time.

45 minutes or so later it kicked in hard (in a pleasant way), there was no mistaking it. I was definitely rolling. It lasted for a good while too.

I had only taken E once before while on anti-depressants (around 5 months prior), it was only a 100mg MDMA capsule, but I hadn't felt shit from it. Obviously, this was due to my anti-depressants. So why was this time different? Was it the dosage being much higher? Am I just lucky that Im a tiny chick that doesn't need much to feel affects?

Somebody shed some light, please.

it depends on the person and on the anitdepressant you are taking. very few people are able to roll on SSRIs and if you are on one then concider yourself lucky that you felt anything at all. some people have luck rolling on SNRIs but its about 50% chance that you won't be able to feel anything on them either.

Paroxetine is the most potent and one of the most specific selective serotonin (5-hydroxytryptamine, 5-HT) reuptake inhibitors (SSRI).[69] This activity of the drug on brain neurons is thought to be responsible for its antidepressant effects.

Paroxetine is a phenylpiperidine derivative which is chemically unrelated to the tricyclic or tetracyclic antidepressants. In receptor binding studies, paroxetine did not exhibit significant affinity for the adrenergic (α1, α2, β), dopaminergic, serotonergic (5HT1, 5HT2), or histamine receptors of rat brain membrane. A weak affinity for the muscarinic acetylcholine and noradrenaline receptors was evident.
--Wikipedia Paxil article

MDMA works by causing a release of serotonin while inhibiting its elimination as well acting on 5-HT1 and 5HT2 receptors in the brain.
Paxil increases serotonin in the brain by inhibiting the process involved in the elimination of serotonin, thus creating an overall increase of available serotonin.

So your brain on paxil is partially how MDMA works, however MDMA acts on 5-HT1 and 5-HT2, as well as dopamine and adrenalin....

Typically people on anti depressants get stimulant effects from MDMA, Paxil is pretty specific in action in a manner that could allow you to roll. Taking more usually kind of compensates, but its overall kind of dangerous.

The dangerous part about it all? You have multiple drugs that cause serotonin to pile into your brain much faster than it can be dealt with, massive amounts of serotonin in your brain can lead to serotonin syndrome which can kill you. Its basically what happens when your body has more serotonin than your body has room for to a level of being toxic.

The variety of different serotonin receptors in the brain and the massive list of what they mediate is a very expansive topic.... You would benefit from making an effort to learn about reuptake inhibition of serotonin, as well as its biosynthesis and its crucial roles in our core physiology. Some 5-HT agonist can have you in massive euphoria and others cause suicide, some agonist aid in memory while others prevent the formation of memory. The vast majority of 5-HT receptors exist in the gut to mediate your digestive system.

You can still probably trip if you eat 5-HT1 and 5-HT2 centered psychedelics, and there are a bunch.... stay away from stuff associated with being a Selective Serotonin Releasing Agent (SSRA). Here is a list.

Your welcome, I spent like an hour figuring out how SSRIs typically work. But you asked how, and you need to know the dangers of the mentality of "since im on anti depressants and cant roll, so I should just take 3 times as much and kinda roll".... It is honestly dangerous enough to generally just avoid it.
