I need to know

Damn. Whats the best anxiety medicine in your opinion. Im on 2mg of xanax right now. is there something better? hes thinking maybe switching me to ativan

2 **I find Ativan to be too subtle but longer acting
2 **I find Valium to be too short acting and just simply drowsy (though it stays in your system for a long time) Good for tapering.
3 ***I find Xanax to be much too short acting. I like that it kicks in fast. Good for panic attacks but not so great for GAD
4 ****I find Klonopin to be a great muscle relaxant. Long duration. Nice kick. Great for GAD.

I think you guys are arguing semantics. I called it a rush because it hits faster. It enters the blood more rapidly and it gives different effects because of this. Sure, IV is a bit stronger of a feel, but it is the same concept.

Docs are exceedingly cautious about prescribing benzos as it is, in my experience. I agree - there's almost no chance of getting prescribed benzo ampules.

On a side note, when I was on the needle a few years back, I did try injecting Ativan, and it seemed to work. Although it may have just been illusory, as I was mixing it up with heroin and injecting them together (please don't try this, it's a terrible idea, and I would never have done it had I been in a good state of mind in the first place).

My dr will script benzo ampules in extreme situations of agoraphobia and panic disorder. It's rare as fuck. He is a specialist in panic disorder and anxiety. He will only treat patients with panic disorder. For him to script ampules the situation has to be insanely extreme. He is a great dr with a great reputation. He believes in benzo therapy but I would hate to have the amount of anxiety it would take for him to write that script.

Did you specifically ask hem for this? I've heard its only for seizure disorders. I've asked my dr. and that was his response.

Why would a dr. prescribe a needle for panic disorder when taking a Xanax is much more convenient? Does the person who's having a panic attack, not being able to breath have to go find the nearest bathroom and shoot up? And how would it help agoraphobia? Shooting up benzodiazepines is no more effective than taking them orally for anxiety reasons. The only difference is that it kicks in quicker. Which why does somebody with agoraphobia need it to? I never asked my dr about it. He wrote a book... I am assuming the people with that degree of agoraphobia have someone there to assist them in these matters. I don't really know, but yea you're right I couldn't imagine trying to hit a vein during the worst of a panic attack.

On my diagnosis sheet my doc says im in the category of agoraphobia and panic disorder. I wonder how far he will go to stop my panic attacks

Has anyone here been on triazolam? i heard its similar to alprazolam, moreso than other benzos. Ive only heard of bad experiences with it. Has anyone had it or taken it before? What was it like?

^It hits very hard and fast and wears off quickly. I really don't think it is enjoyable, but YMMV.

thank you both for the responses, with all the info ive obtain thus far Its not worth it for me to try it. thank you again
