I am 40 yrs old and have p\bben taking beno's since I was 17. I get a script of the 2mg Xanax bars.and even when i have been out of them for a few eweels, it takes at least 4 BARS for me to feel ANYthing. Suck cause I ionly get 30 a month.
So whats up with that? Anyone else have that kind of tolerance? Is there anything I could do? A friend told me to drink this kidney cleanser crap, that it would lower my tolerance. I think thats a load of shit....input please?.

Only way is to not take benzos... and it takes _months_ for benzo tolerance to go back down. Benzos are particularly unforgiving w/regards to tolerance.

So Bangin...is there ANY way to lower my tolerance>>>

only thing that ever worked for me was goiin without ...i got up to havin to take a bar just to even feel it and 2 to get right....

i went without for a few weeks now i can do a half a bar again..

but its buildin back quick..

I got clean for two years once. When I fell off the wagon the first thing i did was take a bar and felt nada! Ever heard of this kidney drink shit to clean out your kidneys and lower your tolerance?

Sorry, but that kidney shit your talking about will do....NOTHING.

Tolerance with benzo's is in your brain, your kidneys have nothing to do with it. Perhaps if you were taking something that had to do with the liver, such as a cyp3a4 inhibitor such as cimitidine, however kidneys have no effect.

You actually could try taking some cimitidine, this will inhibit cyp3a4 and make you get more out of the benzo's you do take, but it's not going to lower tolerance.

The only way to lower a benzo tolerance is to not take benzo's for a significant amount of time.

i'll agree with most of the posters. i too have been on benzoa for close to three years. tolerance builds up and lasts. i'll go 4 days without taking any then double up and still nothing, just get tired. i think they have a long lasting effect in the brain. that's why recovery takes months.
if you want to get a bang out of your xanax try skipping them for a few days, then take a larger than normal dose. if you really want to activate the magic in benzos add alcohol....but remember alcohol and benzos are very dangerous so i'd have someone watching you to make sure you are ok. whenever i mix alsohol and xanax i tend to blackout and not remember a thing. i'll take 10 bars out with me only planning on taking 2-3 but waking up with like 1/4 of a bar in my pocket.
