I can relate. I recently moved and left behind steady work/income and friends and everything I know. Now I hate where I live, I have no friends, no drugs, and I absolutely cannot stand the local people. I had good work but got layed off, and I haven't seen my family for a couple of years and I am not going to be able to make it home for Christmas again this year because I cannot afford it. I feel more down and depressed now than I have in a long long time. Maybe more so than ever.
All I can do is take it one day at a time, and I would suggest the same for you, Mia. Set some goals and work toward them. And try to remember to be grateful and appreciative of what you do have, rather than only focusing on what you don't have. I know it's hard, and my advice could not be more of a cliche, but that's all I can offer.
Hey, at least you're in California! I wish I hadn't left. Whatever you do, don't move to Montana.
