I have a question about codine?

First how do you spell it because I dont think thats right?
How much of it do you think I should take if i have a small pain, either 400mg or 800mg (im 17 years old and i weigh 145lbs)?
What feeling should I be expecting?
And about how much should make me feel good?
ps. i only have one 800mg pill and i was going to break it in half if nessesary.
 
I don't think 800mg pills exist! 200mg should knock you on your ass. 50 or less would work if you really are using htem for pain. I bet you don't have a 800mg pill, though, take another look at it.
 
No seriously my girlfriends father is huge and he used to take them and she took a couple for herself and I wanted to use one for this toothache that has been killing me. I dont no if thats a rediculous idea or not but i guess is and excuss to take it ;)
 
How many fucking times are you gonna ask the same fucking question. The pills your's talking about don't exist in that dosage.Be patient or DiE...
 
It could be a special order , but I doubt it. I've gotten oxyIR 150mg capsules that were a special order and nobody believed me until they tried it.
 
Don't take 800mg of Codeine unless you have some good tolerance. The LD50 of Codeine is 800mg in the average person.
 
First that LD50 is a guess and a wildly incorrect one I believe. Non-tolerant 400 goes down without even noticing and I doubt the dose curve is *that* steep. Hell if someone gave em to me I would take 800mgs of codeine (pure) now (at the moment zero opiate tolerance). It would itch like a mother fucker and I would want to take a benadryl but I really doubt I would die. I thought we worked this out in an earlier post and it was over a gram of codeine IV was necessery to reach LD50. Do a search I think you will find some of zorns cites.
However an 800mg codeine pill doesn't exist because it would be excedingly dumb. MOst of codeines analgesic potential is from its metabolites and I am sure that would saturate the pathways.
OxyIR in 150mg does make sense because as per previous discussions we have found out studies showing that oxy itself (not its metabolite oxymorphone) is responsible for the analgesia.
 
If you have a small pain you shouldn't need anymore than 90mgs of codeine at the most.
Your average Tylenol with codeines come in doses of either 15 or 30mgs of codeine.
And Jesus Christ, if it's small pain, why not just take ibuprofen?
Also, I'm sorry, but there are no 800mg codeine tablets, nor 400mg codeine tablets. Instead of making super strong codeine pills, THEY PRESCRIBE STRONGER OPIATES INSTEAD LIKE HYDROCODONE AND OXYCODONE!

The pills you're talking about are probably a pinkish color and contain codeine and acetaminophen. The 400mgs would be the acetaminophen.
 
The LD-50 for codeine has been calculated to be slightly higher then "800mg" ... it's actually around 195mg/lb of body weight .. the 800mg figure (from the FAQ on opioids.com, it was submitted by a Usenet poster to ADH years ago) was challanged back then and the figure was determined to be some mis-representation ..
As for the dose - for god sakes, you can find all kinda of crazy shit overseas... and even in the US - while codeine by itslef is C-II a compounding pharmacy could make some freaky dose pills...

Sure, there could be some freaky doses.. but 800mgs? Like I said, that's why there are other painkillers on the market.

Yah but isn't that the estimation for an IV codeine dose. I thought this was extrapolation from rat IV.
I just don't think you could kill yourself on only codeine...you would probably vomit enough back up at the worst (unless you are one of the ppl who is allergic or whatever)

That LD50 is not a guess, and I wouldn't call it "wildly incorrect". While it may not be exact enough for your high scientific standards, taking over 800mg would be flirting with disaster.

You can't IV Codeine.
 
Does the pill bottle have a 400 on it with a slash, then a number after the slash? The number that you want is the second one, the first one would be how much tylenol the pill has. A 400mg codeine pill doesn't really make sense, if needed that large of a dose of narcotics they would give you a better narcotic. If they really are 400mg coedine pills, then I look like an ass don't I? :)
 
I believe its possible. I don't make shit up and I have had special order oxyIR 150mgs and 40mgs and if it was fake then I would have still been suffering through withdraw after i took a cap ful.
