i had a dream last night

i just cant shake it.
dreams, they say,
are an insight into our minds -
i had a dream last night
and i awoke in confusion
i couldnt stop thinking about you
and what went through my mind
as i lay sleeping
dreaming of you.
what does it all mean?
and in this dream land
where we kissed,
everything seemed almost perfect
but i wonder still
what would have happened
had i slept a little longer?
let my mind unfold a little more?
but what is not settling with me
is that now, when i am awake
conscious of that which i am thinking,
i can still see you so clearly
and feel your lips against mine
and i still want the dream to continue,
even when i am awake...
i arise from my slumber
i open my eyes
i exhale
and i look around
but you are not there
oh to be in your arms again
for you to hold me.
but its only in my dream
world.
its only in my dreams.

whoa!!!! mellabopper, a strange coincidence just occured. just sitting here, ate dinner had a few beers listening to the romeo & juliet soundtrack cuz i just watched that movie. well....the butthole surfer's song, you know "i had a dream last night..."comes on, my mind drifts away from the computer screen and i start just grooving to the song(short attention span due to two hornsbys)alright-attention back to the screen, as i sing the lyrics, i look at the title of your poem-in perfect simultaneous harmony.therefore i must read it.well i love it and all day long i have been obsessing over this dream i had about this dj friend of mine who i have a huge crush on where i can still literally feel his bottom lip in mine like in the dream. enough rambling for you.......you rock!!!
