I had just put the pills in my pocket when the kid asked me if I knew anything about liquid opium. I said that I didn't think it was prescribed in the U.S. because opium is schedule I. He then proceeded to produce a bottle with most of its label removed. The remaining part read "OPIUM/TINCTURE USP/(DEODORIZED)". The bottle was 118 mL, and read "POISON" in the upper right corner. After some research, I determined (incorrectly) that it was Paregoric (0.4 mg/mL morphine sulfate). For $65, I knew I was getting ripped off, but I had never tried morphine, so I decided to drop the cash.
Anyway, I took 10 mL on an empty stomach and quickly realized that I was not taking Paregoric. I was floored, and loving it. After more research, I determined that it is Laudanum (10 mg/mL morphine sulfate)i, and that I am one lucky bastard.
I am not sharing this story with all of you to make you jealous of my incredible luck, but rather to spread the feeling of hope and to remind you that an opportunity to purchase a gram of pharmaceutical morphine for $65 could spring up when you least expect it.
I also want to hear what YOU would do with this. I have no problem drinking the entire bottle in 10 mL increments, but that might get boring. Will morphine sulfate vaporize? Can I soak a cigarette in 2 mL of solution and smoke the morphine? Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.
