Benzos I dont feel diazepam

Anyway so i got 10mg diazepam actavis.

I tried 5mg sublingually, a few hours later another 5mg.

After that i went to bed woke up 3 hours later and took 10mg (5 sublingually, swollowed the other 5)
I slept okay but only 5 hours.

So yesterday i took 20mg(sublingual) recreationally, didnt do much really and before bed i took another 10 (swollowed).

Have i taken to little? I thought 20mg would knock me out which i didnt, i felt it working but very subtly.

i took 50mg oxazepam once (long ago) and it really knocked me out
Im just wondering will it take time to feel the effects or is 20mg just too little, or could it be that diazepam just isnt my benzo?

I doubt if one benzo worked for you that another one wouldn't. As far as I know they all work in the same way - they're all GABA agonists.

20mg is not a small dose of diazepam. I have been highly tolerant to diazepam and usually would feel even 2mg-4mg (though it wouldn't get me high). Are you perhaps looking for the wrong sort of effect? Benzos are not inebriating or seriously pleasure-inducing; they merely 'zonk' you out and slow down your thinking. They also relax your muscles and make it easier to chill. But the benzo-state is negatively defined - it's a matter of not being subject to angst and worry and discomfort, rather than a matter - I think - of experiencing anything positive as such. It's still great though.

Benzos are extremely safe and you could up your dose to 50mg (and probably alot further) without needing to worry. I used to take 125mg easily and I know a girl who tried to kill herself with 250mg; she just fell asleep and woke up and was completely fine. She had no tolerance.

Actually, benzodiazepines vary in effects widely between users.

For instance, lorazepam and diazepam don't do much for me, and clonazepam gives me paradoxical reactions of increased anxiety, so I cannot take it.

The other 6 benzodiazepines I have tried work great for me, but even while temazepam is one of my favorites, I have met people who get nothing out of temazepam.

Just as a harm reduction note, it isn't wise to use benzodiazepines to attempt suicide. It is going to take an exceedingly large amount of them. I knew someone, who has since passed away. They ended up aspirating on their own vomit on a ridiculously large overdose of diazepam (3 grams), and had to have necrotized lung tissue removed.

It isn't pleasant by any means and it is just not wise to attempt this. My friend unfortunately was delusional and didn't realize they had continue taking so many pills in this fashion.

Also, the pharmacological properties of benzodiazepines do differ slightly from one another; flurazepam, for instance, is a partial agonist.
 
Have you been prescribed these by a doctor?

If so don't over do the dosage they set and get yourself into a situation where you have taken your script way to quickly and now have withdrawals to cope with before you can get more.

A Benzo habit is something to be avoided as are the possible seizures from withdrawal.

If your looking to use this stuff recreationally dont use daily or you will end up with a habit, of you are looking for a sleep aid I, personally wouldnt rate Diaz for this, sure it will knock you out at high doses but there are more effective drugs for that purpose.

Ill try upping it for recreational purposes. Just how do i take 5 pill sublingually?
Im basically just suprised, because tramadol (an opiod) that doesnt do shit for allot of people gives me a really nice high even at 150-200mg.
So i thought i was sensitive. Anyway im gonna get kpin prehaps i feel more from them :D

It is not advised you up your dosage for recreational effects. IMO, with little/no tolerance, you should get something from 20mg. If you don't, 50mg is just not wise.

If your plan is to have a good one time experience, that is one thing. However, my advice is to just give up trying to use diazepam. It sounds like it isn't that effective to you. Using higher dosages of diazepam will induce tolerance - even if you don't get enjoyable effects.

For this reason, I would suggest trying out a new benzodiazepine, once you have no benzo tolerance again. This way you can tell, comparatively, how benzos are going to effect you.

As others have said, it's not going to be an extreme "high" feeling. While some people do get this from benzodiazepines, I don't think it's the norm. I think it could also be correlated to how much anxiety/stress you are experiencing, so that greater relief equates to greater pleasure.

It could just be very subtle for you personally.
 
The benzodiazepine 'high' is very subtle, that's all I can say.

It's more the lack of anxiety than the presence of euphoria that defines it.
 
The only benzos that give me ANY euphoria are diazepam and Klonopin.....Xanax and Ativan just make me want to eat and go to sleep. I <3 taking Klonopin with my Suboxone....Valium is pretty good, too. I think YMMV is a good one for benzos!! :)
 
When i was 16 even 50mg of Valium couldnt be felt, so i gave up on it, same with Ativan. Even with the terrible social anxiety i had/have.

Restoril/Xanax/Klonopin are nice. I wouldnt bother trying for "hero" doses at all with any of them. Addictive little buggers for being so damn subtle.

valium is weak still works i mix my valium with my klonopin all the time works great than u wont get a great high from benzos its more about being in peace:D
 
Same here. Ativan works for me and so does Xanax, but other benzo's do not. Valium does absolutely nothing for me in pill form but gets me high as fuckkk when injected. I had it once right before a surgery cause I was freaking out. It hit me right away and was seriously the best feeling I have ever felt in my entire life... the best way to describe it I guess is an opiate high but with 100x the euphoria. There are no words to describe how amazing it felt. Unfortunately I only got to experience this amazingness for a few seconds before they started the drip and I passed out. LOL the first thing I asked them upon waking up actually was, "Can I have more Valium?" They were like... No. I guess it's a good thing I don't know how to get my hands on that stuff though... I'd probably never stop...

But yeah. The Valium pills just suck and don't do shit.
 
I totally agree.....most everyone I know feels the opposite of what I do when it comes to benzos but most people in my family who have to take them seem to do a lot better with Valium or Klonopin. Do you think genetics could also play a role in which one works best for you??

Yes I have had several benzodiazepines prescribed, although not all of the ones I tried were prescribed to me

I rarely use benzodiazepines and still have no tolerance; I prefer great indica strains to benzos for sleep. %)
