household goddess, wasting time
I am the superficial reality
all these people know you aren’t mine.
I am thinking a thousand thoughts
suffocating inside the person I knew
I am thinking about it all
thinking about, not thinking about you.
I am the one who got away
slipped away secretly from your mind
I am the one who hid from it all
wondering why I was left so blind
I am the girl who nobody knew
you couldn’t remember me if you tried
I am the one who sat in her room
and secretly began to cry
I am the one who thought too much
lived in her own reality
I am the one who believed what she wanted
but I believed what you told me
I am a million and one dreams
waiting to be brought to life
I am a million wishes
wanting things to be right
I am NOT what you wanted me to be
was never what you thought
I can be a million more things
these ideas I never fought.

be your own person, cuz you're great. if you tried to be who everyone else wanted you to be, you might be a model, a straight-A student, a multi-millionaire, a person with all the answers...
but you would hate yourself, because your identity would not be your own. you'd be living a lie. and you'd have nothing to be proud of.
