I almost killed myself by taking too much dilaudid tonight...

So I got a huge scare tonight. I've taken dilaudid before and never had a problem but I guess the conditions were just right tonight... I started off with 4mg crushed in a glass of water. Then when I felt it wearing off, I took another 2mg pill and about two hours later I took another because I wasn't really feeling it. About an hour later I was so fucked up that I was having breathing problems. I started hyperventillating so badly that my entire body went numb. It finally cleared up after a few hours. Dilaudid has never been so intense before but after this I will never touch opioids again. Not worth the risk. God what a scare.
 
Wow MK I am so glad to hear that you're okay! That is a very scary experience and I hope that you've recovered fully. Please take care of yourself, drink plenty of water, eat lots of healthy food and get plenty of sleep.

Yeah I'm fully recovered today. Crazy dreams though. Ironically I dreamt I was in a mental institution because I was on DXM and lost it.... super weird shit... especially since o haven't done dextro in ages.

Anyway I feel fine today. I had no intentions of letting myself die last night. I could have but it wasn't and isn't my time.
 
How much do you normally take?

That seems weird that it happened so long after you took it. The effects don't last as long as several other opiates. Also, wouldn't hyperventilating be worse for if you or at least difficult to do if you had respiratory depression?

I have taken 5 before with no problem. It honestly probably had to do with my klonopin though I've been on 2mg a day for years and never suffered respiratory suppression.

As for the hyperventillating, I had to FORCE myself to. I was presented with two options. Fall asleep and die or force my breathing and live. Oddly I those to live even though I've been depressed and suicidal lately. I could have easily popped some xanax and drifted out of this life permanently. The experience actually put things in perspective for me so I don't regret it. I just won't touch opiates or opioids ever again.

I agree that the period of intoxication was odd. The respiratory suppression lasted long after the high was gone.

OP- Yeah the mixture is very dangerous as I'm sure your fully aware now. Glad to hear you took this shock for what it was, a wake up call. A lot of my friends just shrug this off like a bad night of drinking. Hope all is well bro.

^Not really. Opiate tolerance develops quickly when IV'ing.

^Word I've just never heard of someone doing that much before thats a lot of D but a guess over time anything is possible.

Yeah well I've been on it for years and not had a problem before. My klonopin tolerance is pretty high anyway. 2mg a day barely gets me through the day.

Anyway yeah benzos and opioids don't get along but when I had surgery they had me take 7.5mg of vicoprofen along with a .5mg xanax 4-6 times a day, with no opiate tolerance, for 4 weeks. I really think I primarily OD'D. But yeah never again.

Even so, 40mg in a shot is a lot. Seems like it'd be hard to fit that much in a rig.

Adding klonopin or any kind of benzo to that mix is definitely dangerous, especially if you don't take opiates too often. Good thing you kept your head together and pulled through.

As long as you learned something from the experience then I think you'll be alright. :)

I've never seen a drug develop tolerance as fast as D. I was originally prescribed it for back pain and I developed a tolerance the first day. -.-

Within 4 days I was taking 3 at a time. And that was barely killing the pain. Contrasted to vicoprofen, it took me 3 weeks before I had to add an additional pill - and I had just gotten done with them burning the shit out of my left lung cavity with chemicals to permanently fix a random collapse... IMO, D sucks.

I used to shoot 30mg at a time. Some of the fuckers around here who can afford it will shoot 60.
 
Hydromorphone almost did me in the first time i tried it too, i only took 2, 4mg pills (snorted) and it nailed me so hard i thought i was gonna freakin die, i was so fucked up i was trying to spit out the drip to get it out of me but it was too late.. i ended up puking a few times and it eventually went away.
