Hypericum (St. John's Wort) and psychedelics

Hi there!
I started taking Hypericum/St. John's Wort 4 days ago (120mg/tab, 1 tab/day) and I was wondering if it interacts negatively with some psychedelics, namely 4-aco-dmt and shrooms.
Does anyone has some information about the possible interaction?
Also, is there any interaction with MDMA?
Sorry if this post already exist, but the others I found were not quite what I was looking for!

St. John's wort is an SRI and as such it will reduce the effects of psychedelics.

It will block the effects of MDMA and wikipedia claims that there is also a risk of serotonin syndrome. Technically it should not but being that it contains a spectrum of active compounds, I would definitely not risk it.

Does it completely blocks the effects, making it worthless to take, or is it just some kind of reduction? Would you dose higher or just not risk it and stay away from psychedelics?
I cn give up on molly, but I'm quite interested in shrooms and other tryptamines :)
 
It completely blocks the serotonergic effects of MDMA and the risk of dangerous interaction is far too high to make it worth trying. I would be comfortable to take psychedelics but start low and work up.

^I'm skeptical of that. If it is the case that it interacts with some of these compounds, then the combo thread needs to be updated accordingly. But given that LSD, psilocybin, mescaline, amphetamines, cocaine, and MDMA are mentioned, I am leery of the authenticity of this claim. I know this information is from the Australian Medicinal Handbook which is peer-reviewed, but "peer" has a wide berth of meaning depending on academic context.

I'm not sure if there's any evidence of the ability of St. John's Wort to cause serotonin syndrome in combo with the above psychedelics. Certainly all the restrictions that would normally apply to SSRIs apply here (such as no MAOIs, DXM, Ibogaine, Tramadol, and 5-HTP). But it should be mentioned that hypericum is actually an inducer of the CYP 3A4 enzyme, and as such it actually reduces the blood concentrations of some of those compounds listed on the wiki page (such as amitryptiline, methadone, midazolam etc.) http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15350151 and http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15260917.

I would like to see the clinical evidence for the claim regarding LSD etc. But I've searched pubmed and crossreferenced those search terms and I can find nothing on the interactions between these drugs.

Also, I read that it takes weeks for it take effect, but for me the mood lift was almost instant! I'm thinking to stop taking hypericum. How much should I wait before I can start to take psychedelics again?
 
Yeah I am very dubious about the list found on wikipedia but I would certainly not mix with MDMA.
