I was just wondering about how much hydrocodone/apap (Vicodin) do you have to take to get any effects? I don't have any experience at all with hydrocodone, but I have experience with oxycodone (Roxicet & Percocet) and alprazolam (sp?) (Xanax). I know it depends on body weight, tolerance, etc. but I'm not that large and I have no tolerance to it. What are the overall effects of it? Can it make you itch like oxycodone can?
 
All opiates (and most opioids) will make you itchy to some extent. Hydrocodone is certainly no exception.
How much oxycodone does it usually take for you to get where you want to be?
 
id say silver is right on this one.. but take a little more if you really wanna get hit
 
5-10 mg of oxy does it for me too, and I generally take 20-22.5 mg of hydro, or occasionally as little as 15 if I only want a slight buzz. I think 10-12.5 is a little low if you're actually trying to get a high out of it.

yeah but hes only taking 5(!) to 10mg of oxy, so those hydro dosages should be low.. for me a nice 40mg of Vics hits the spot..

Um, read again... I would only take 5-10 mg of oxy as well. I know we're not the same person but I think it's reasonable to assume that our dose responses would be similar for hydro if they are for oxy. Sure the dose would be low - as you say, a mere 5 mg of oxy being satisfactory is low indeed (IME it's more a buzz than an actual "high", but still pleasant) - but not as low as 10 mg. Barring some odd sensitivity I really doubt that would do it, based on my own experiments with the relative scales of how much is needed...

If it's only taking you about 2-3 percs to get on then all you'll need for vicodin is 3-4. Pretty much the same effect. I prefer oxycodone over hydrocodone. I tend to itch more & feel hot and sweat when I take hydro...
