Hydrocodone withdrawals very mild??

Hey, I am a bit confused. I read on here about people getting extremely sick from hydrocodone withdrawals. Even getting nauseas, hot flashes, sweats, achey joints and running noses from doses as low as 20mg a day. I don't know what's going on with me, but I've been taking hydrocodone about 7 months now (everyday for the past 4-5 months). I was taking anywhere from 4-7 10-325mg pills a day at my worst. I tapered down pretty fast to where I was taking anywhere from 1.5-2.5 pills a day (15-25mg). I did this for about a week and the last 48 hours I haven't taken any hydrocodone at all. Only thing I've experienced is restless arms/legs and some irritability. I haven't had any sweats, insomnia, achey joints or anything like that. Are the withdrawals not as bad as people make them out to sound, or is my 15-25mg a day dosage just too low for that? I'm just curious. Any advice is appreciated! Thanks!

hydrocodone withdrawals are mild compared to stronger opiates, and everyones body handles them differently. you obviously saved yourself a lot of discomfort by tapering so low, and jumping off from 15-20mg a day is practically nothing, so im not surprised youre having very mild WD, and depending on how prepared you are, that can feel like nothing or feel like hell if youre not ready for it and sensitive to thta kind of thing

people saying they get severe symptoms from kicking 20mg/day hydrocodone are likely just not used to opiate WD and exaggerate because it takes them by surprise.

Redrum OG, appreciate the response. That makes sense. I had some friends who were addicted to oxys, roxys and heroin and they were having really bad withdrawals. I also read horrible horror stories about hydrocodone withdrawals, but like you said it could be people being caught off guard. I knew I was going to feel
some discomfort and was ready for it (plus I'm prescribed 1mg Xanax a day which helped). Does physical condition matter when it comes to WD? I am a personal trainer and lift weights 5 days a week so I'm in pretty good health other than the codone addiction.

Definitely helps being in good shape, having a good diet and other healthy life choices to render the withdrawal less severe. Quicker metabolism will shorten the duration of the w/d. Mental toughness has a lot to do with it, too. You are a personal trainer so you are use to physical pain and putting your body through extremes, that probably helps with the mental side of it. Having a smallish habit helps a lot, too, as well as the quick taper. Physical condition probably plays a bigger role in beating a small habit, because when its someone doing 400+ mg of oxycodone or 1+ G of heroin a day, it doesn't matter how good of shape they are in, its still going to be real rough.

Thanks RTrain. That helps out. My friend who was shooting up heroin and taking oxys daily tried to tell me that 20-25mg of hydrocodone a day was equal to shooting up almost a gram of heroin a day and I would get "dope sick" for 3-4 days. I felt some withdrawals, don't get me wrong. I had hot flashes for about 10 minutes the first morning and them that "creepy crawly" feeling you get in your legs and arms/hands, but that's it.
No aches, no sweats or insomnia
or anything. So I just didn't know how it worked. 400mg of hydrocodone a day? Damn. That seems like an insane amount

Hydrocodone WD are just like any other opiate withdrawal...

You need vitamins and exercise, along with good diet.

You also might need pharmacutical help if you can't muster through it.

Also 20-25mg of hydrocodone is not equal to a gram of heroin....

yea 20-25mg of hydrocodone is a really low dose and that is why you are feeling very mild WD's also you were using daily for only 4-5 months which isn't a very long time which probably plays a part in it as well. Just be glad you aren't experiencing very horrific WD's!! Also, 20-25 hydrocodone isn't equivalent to a gram of dope, maybe a 0.1 of dope and 0.9 of cut
