Hydrocodone Dependency

Hey guys, just made a Bluelight account but search around on here pretty often. I was wondering how much Hydrocodone it takes on a week to week or a month to month basis, until you become slightly dependent on it. I have taken Hydro's only a few times at school to break up the usual boring week, so i don't have a tolerance to anything but weed. I usually take two 7.5's for a great buzz. How often would it take to start to become "addicted" or somewhat dependent on it. I don't want to go overboard without realizing it.

Thanks!

Edit: 155 lbs.

If you can limit yourself to once a week you shouldn't develop much of a tolerance. It will happen but won't get out of control. If you take it more than once a week then you are taking a risk. Who knows how long it will take, it greatly differs for everyone. It depends on your chemistry. Those with addictive personalities will most likely become dependent quicker than others and their usage can easily get out of control. Some people may even be able to use 2 or 3 times a week and keep at that without becoming addicted. I know people who take like every other day for pain at low doses and don't become tolerant.

There are many, many variables when it comes to developing addiction to opiates, you can browse through Bluelight and read lots of stories of people who started using once or twice a week and then it went downhill from there. K'd-OUT put it very well but I just wanted to echo what he said, if you're very very careful, the chance of addiction and dependency is very low, but its still there.

Tread carefully, opiates (even hydrocodone) should be treated with respect.

Totally agree with what NT said, but your one statement "to break up the usual boring week" is a little worrisome. If you can keep it to once a week then you will not develop a tolerance and so you won't develop a physical dependence.

A psychological dependence is something else altogether. Try to keep yourself busy and fill your boredom with better, more healthy hobbies.

Hydrocodone is a very addictive opiate. It's dependence liability (both physical and mental) is far greater than codeine's and the same as oxycodone's.

Take it from me: don't go down that road. Read my post (right behind yours) if you'd like. I was using it at first for genuine pain, but soon realized that if I skipped my morning dose, even though I wasn't in pain anymore, my nose and eyes turned into a fountain and I was irritable as all hell.
It sneaks up on you pretty quick, and after not very long, it isn't even that much fun anymore.
And, to quote AA, once you're hooked, "One is too many, 1,000 isn't enough."

The way you are using them sounds like a great way to become dependent on them as a coping tool. They do tend to sneak up and that's hard to gauge from the inside.
