I was just wondering, I've found that snorting hydrocodone elimnates the nausea almost completely for me, but people say it's a stupid idea because you don't absorb as much and it doesen't last as long. I get higher on less though, albeit for a shorter amount of time. Is this because the peak blood concentration goes higher for a few hours and then drops significantly? Because snorting is stronger but shorter, I don't really see why people are so against it, like a longer but weaker high versus and stronger and shorter one is an equal tradeoff IMO.
 
Snorting hydrocodone is usually frowned upon because the amount of hydrocone compared to the amount of APAP in each pill is about....1 part per 100. Meaning that when you snort the pill, for every "molecule", piece, or whatever you wanna call it, of hydrocodone....there are 100 pieces or "molecules" of APAP clogging up your nostrils. This is a very innefective way of administering the drug if you are taking any more than one or two pills because by the second, third, or fourth pill(maybe), your nose will be so compacted with crap that it will be having a very hard time absorbing the hydrocodone.
Im assuming that since you say you enjoy snorting your hydro's, that you have a relatively low opiate tolerance and you only take a couple pills at a time to get a high.
But, theoretically, if you managed to get a hold of some hydrocodone that WASN'T mixed with all those binders, fillers, and APAP, and it was either pure or almost pure hydrocodone.....snorting it would almot definitely be a better method of using the drug than oral. This is because when it is absorbed in your noses membranes it gets into your blood quicker and hits your brain harder, causing you to feel more of a high, quicker, as compared to orally taking it. And since you probably only take a very small amount of pills intranasally, it is understandable that you are able to get a "stronger" or "better" effect when snorting it than swallowing it because it is getting absorbed more quickly through your nose, but also, at the same time, your not snorting too much other crap along with it because your only snorting a couple pills.(allthough in my opinion, even one pill is WAAAY too much to snort).

but, if you were able to get a hold of pure hydrocodone, the amount of matter that you would be snorting would be EXTREMELY TINY because you would probably only be snorting about 20-30mg's tops to get you high, and that amount of matter is very small.....thats like 20/1000's of a gram.....you would have trouble seeing it, let alone measuring out a correct dose.

*Basically.....the only way you can enjoy snorting hydrocodone pills(vicodin) is if you have a very low opiate toelrance and only need a couple pills to get high.......otherwise, snorting hydrocodone is pointless and very damaging to your nose due to all the pill matter you are trying to inhale....not to mention the damage to your lungs. Its simply not worth it if you have any tolerance whatsoever.
For example.....when i was an opiate abuser, I would on average have to take about 120mg's atleast to get any sort of high off of hydrocodone.....and depending on which pill you have, that could be anywhere from 12-24 pills....and each one of those pills has a shitload of binders and fillers.....it would literally be impossible for me to snort that much hydrocodone.

Because hydrocodone doesn't come as "hydrocontin", in other words there's tylenol in the pills. Unless you have pure hydrocodone powder, which isn't likely. They are meant to be eaten, not snorted!

I dont even think snorting would provide that great of a high with hydrocodone. Stick with eating it.
 
I used to always snort my pills when I was in highschool. Then, one day, in a bind when I had no time to snort them, I chewed on them and swallowed them and was shocked to discover the high was about 40% stronger orally than it was nasally.

I think snorting is a big waste of time. it hits you faster but I feel the high is weaker and shorter.
 
I feel sorry for your nose.......you have to snort a huge pile of powder to probably get 2mg of hydrocodone in your system. If you must snort something get some other pills like roxis, dilaudid, opana, etc. that have much less fillers and binders. Snorting all of those binders and fillers, along with apap is asking for a deviated septum.

In my opinion, everyone is different, and some poeple may prefer the high of snorting hydrocodone to the high of swallowing it.....
BUT.....one thing is very important.....it doesnt matter which way you prefer to do it once you get a tolerance that demands any more than about 30mg's of hydro to get high(assuming your using the 10/350's and not the 5/500's).....your not gonna be able to effectively snort that amount of pill matter and absorb it efficently at all. Im sry its just not possible....unless you did some sort of CWE and then evaporated the liquid and was left with almsot pure hydrocodone.(which btw, would take WAAAAY more effort than its worth).
 
Yeah thanks for that awesome post jamesbrown, that really makes sense. I only have to snort two pills, they're norco 10/325s. IMO the high is better when I snort them, but part of the reason I like it more is because I get bad nausea with opiates, and taking them orally for some reason makes it worse. (i know the nausea is caused by the brain, not the stomach) I agree with you though, snorting any more than these two pills would be ridiculous. Thanks :)
 
Unless you have a compounded capsule of hydrocodone and something else in different amounts, i can see someone maybe snorting them.. BUT to break down a 10/325 Norco and start hoovering lines a big as the eastern seaboard to get high just seems wasteful. Though once your nostrils get clogged, the rest will really be dripped down into your stomach and that's where you're probably getting high from. The slow "release" of hydro coming down little bits at a time to your stomach
