Hey guys. I've been using bluelight for some years now, but just decided to make a profile. Let me first start off by saying how great all of you are. The plethora of knowledge on the website and among all the members rivals that of most doctor organizations.
Anyway, here is my question.
I am currently in a drug court program for a recent drug-related arrest. We are required to take a drug test three times per week, with random screens being sent off to the lab for more detailed testing, as well as EtG testing.
On my first drug test, I had taken hydrocodone one day prior. I admitted use so it wasn't a big deal, but I failed on a typical five-screen panel for opiates. To my knowledge, 5-screen panels with a opiate subtest only pick up substituents that are synthesized into morphine (i.e codeine, heroin, and morphine itself). To my knowledge, hydrocodone is synthesized into hydromorphone. Is it possible that certain 5-panel opiates tests include hydromorphone as a positive?
Also, I have been taking tramadol. I have a test today in several hours. As far as I can tell, tramadol is not detected as an opiate or opioid, and even if it is sent to the lab, there was no category tramadol could fit in on the lab sheet that I sign other than opiates (there are methaone, opiate, oxycodone, amphetamine, methamphetamine, EtG, benzo, barbiturate, and LSD tests that can be checked off on the sheet) . Is it a seperate and specific test? Anyway, I appreciate your time and look forward to some responses! And sorry in advance if this is in the wrong section!
David
