i make it a serious priority to consume AT LEAST a gallon (128 fl. oz, 8 water bottles) a day....

How come i am still dehydrated? (DARK YELLOW PEE, dry mouth, fatigue...not urinating as much as i should)

May i add i drink one cup of black coffee in the morning, and work out (very hard) at least once a day (alternate cardio and weight training)

thanks guys?

Your body could not be producing the right hormones. Or it could be any number of things. Go see your doctor.

For what it's worth: If I drink any less than four or five liters of water in a day when I'm very active, I feel all of what you're describing plus horrible headaches. Started drinking upwards of eight liters last summer and was concerned enough to see my doctor about it. Went to a renal specialist and everything is fine--I'm just a thirsty person.

how do you consume a gallon of water ?

chugging a gallon of water will result in almost a gallon of piss.

water has to be "absorbed" by the body. herein lies the complications, most brought about by industrialism. Water needs to be of an alkaline pH for optimal absorption, acidified water (which is what almost all water is these days) is very difficult for your cells to absorb. dissolved particulate matter in most common municipal tap water also increases the inefficiency of water absorption. though one should still drink plenty of water in the form of just fluid water, fruits and veggies are becoming better sources for alkaline water than anything else in the modern era. if youre diet doesnt already include a large quantity of fresh, raw vegetables and fruits, you likely have more problems compounding each other than can be addressed singularly.

also, dark piss 100% of the time makes me wonder about your diet. does it include a lot of processed meats, pasteruized dairy, and prepacked/processed foods? lots of cooked conventionally produced foods? these will interfere with water absorption of course, but theyre also flooding your body with such a level of toxicity as to turn your urine that color.

just sit a glass of filtered water nearby wherever you are or whatever youre doing and consume it slowly over the course of an hour or so, then get another. dont consume water during or immediately after meals. after a meal has passed on from the stomach, resume filling your glass of water every hour or hour and a half. the more you chug, the less youll actually absorb.

(in addition, a heavily toxic diet will cause the colon to secrete a lot of mucus, which makes water absorption via the colon very difficult. alcohol increases this immensely).

If you are concerned you should see a doctor. You may also be working your body harder than it is meant to be worked. There is a condition known as Rhabdomyolysis (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rhabdomyolysis). It is unusual, but it happened to a lot college football players in Iowa from over exertion a year or so ago.

Is the pee always dark yellow? Is this something new, or have you always reacted this way? If not, could you imagine a correlation between the onset of your symptoms with an increase in physical exertion? If this is the case, and you can't go see a doc for some reason you could try cutting back on your work out, specifically muscle building routines. A temporary break would be best. If you notice improvement then give it a bit longer before you start back, and when you start back do less weight with the same or less reps. If everything stays ok, then maybe up the reps, but keep the weight down for awhile. This is advice based on pure speculation of what your problem COULD be, not what it is. Regardless of what the cause/s of your symptoms is/are, a break from working out is probably not a bad idea.

Anyways, the best option is to see a doctor. No one here can answer your question because we cannot see you, and even if could we don't have the equipment necessary to attempt to come to any sort of conclusive diagnosis.
