hungry to live

hungry to feed
and hungry to be fed
Im hungry to bleed
and hungry to mend
hungry to feel
and yet desire numbness
both
at the same time
hungry for a common ground
on which
we both may walk
hungry to breathe
just one breath
of your skin
hungry for familiar hands
but still pained by their touch
hungry for the past
and what will
never
be again
and although the hunger strike
continues. . .
