South African 40yr old living in London. Smoked herb most of my life, enjoyed Acid, shrooms & E since the late 80's & recently moved into RC's & lesser known psychedelics like aMT & the 2c family.

Interested in the new n-bome class of analogues, as well as classic psychedelics such as DOC & DOM.

HELLO everyone! :) *waves*

Welcome PhyllipThylamine :) Cool avatar.

Your post reminded me I have some historical research to do about DOM in its STP period circa 1967. Hope BL is as good to you as it has been to me.

Normally I'd say mushrooms but I've only the smallest stock of these left from before the shroom ban in the UK some years ago. I'm the "hold onto stock until the IDEAL opportunity arrives" sort, but now that the pile is down to perhaps 3 mdium trips, I can't bring myself to use them until a new source or field full appears.

So at the mo it's 2c-xx's & tryptamines I'm testing. So far, my favourite is 2c-t-2, which I've found very similar to shrooms, longer but easier on the tummy. Like a mild LSD trip combined with a longer shroom trip. Eye opening stuff! Also fond of 2c-e & am planning to try others... & I'm VERY curious about the NBOMe derivatives that are recently breaking through...

It's early days for chemical tryptamines (as aposed to organics like shrooms) for me. I'm easing in with the aMT due to it's length & possible unpredictability, & I recently acquired a small amount of 5-meo-dalt. I'm not fond of smoking chems so I'll be testing small oral doses of this until I find a level I like, or one I dislike...

Thanks very much Enki, I drew that myself :) My gf recently found an old drawing of mine & got all tripped out on it on 2c-c, so I've been digging up some of my old "art" & found that one on my laptop, which is funny coz my scanner stopped working about 5 years ago Lol Also planning to find time (yeah right) to do some new ones. Thanks again, very cool =D

The story of STP is a facinating one & part of the reason I'm interested in the DOxx series...

Hoe gaan dit Phyl? where in SA are you from originally? I'm a londoner born and bred but lived in stellenbosch 5+ years. beautiful, beautiful place.

not sure why, but my appetite for mind-altering chemicals went right down over in SA. seems more ingrained in the culture here.

Hey dude, I was born here in the UK & grew up in Pretoria & did some schooling in the late 70's/early 80's north in Rhodesia/Zimbabwe.

One of my favourite things about London is the "scene". I produce music & I like making music with the assistance of the odd subtle chemical.

However, I hate the weather, dont think much of the people here, who seems so selfish & intensely consumerist. I thought South Africans were selfish & consemerist until I got here! I miss Africa every day, even though I've been here more than 2 decades now (my parents returned from Africa as they got nearer pension age) & travel to sunnier, more relaxed climes whenever I can.

How long you been in the UK, assuming you are?

Hey man,

I'm a Brit that married an Afrikaaner girl so i've been in the uk my whole life except for just over 5 years in the Cape while my wife went to University of Stellenbosch. I loved SA but didn't want to settle there permanently (i've got permanent residency & an id book). a good mate also moved there from the UK and he is never coming back! absolutely loves it.

What music software do you use BTW? I mess around with that stuff too and recently had a revelation moving from Reason (which I've used for years) to Ableton Live. Wish I'd changed years ago - ideas seem to flow more easily with ableton.

Hey man!

I'm a bit old fashioned & very distrustful of computers when making music. I use hardware sequencers like the MMT8, popular with Orbital. I've collaberatted with people & have used PC's then, but never on my own. My hardware brings with it limitations which can sometimes be a pain, but in other cases help to focus on actual music making, rather than software fiddling.

I do feel like I should move away from hardware sequencing but I'm a bit stuck in my ways & daunted by the learning curve. Not confident...

Other producers I know also love Ableton, & I've worked with a friend who loves hs Reason/Cubase combo.
