When I'm not researching what the fuck is wrong with my brain via scientific articles on psychiatric conditions and meds, I experiment (modestly) with how drugs - legal and otherwise - can help me in pursuit of getting out of the purgatory of primary ADHD (secondary depression?) and a moderate case of BDD, and seemingly to a lesser extent, OCD. I've tried most of the SSRI's, SNRI's and to the extent I find relief from symptoms from any meds, I've found (prescribed Adderall/dextro) to be useful, although full therapeutic relief tends to require a higher dosage than I'd prefer - from ADHD and depression (high dosage response perhaps more due to my depressive orientation.) I like to mediate this with cannabis. Although, as I found tonight, certain indicas really make my depression worse. I'm glad to have my brain back again (or so we'll imagine) as the buzz has subsided and I'm left with a bit of "hyperfocus" a la ADHD.

I feel even the negative experiences I have in my life can inform positively ("medicine" in particular) if I'm willing to look beneath the surface. I just got through with a sativa dominant supply (prior to my current "sad/dumb" weed supply) and I found it to be quite effective, if imperfect, on my overall well-being. I've (off and on) been working on mindfulness over the last 2 years and find the right MJ strain allows me to distance myself from my mind and "observe" (mindfulness right there) what's going on instead of constantly experiencing the warring factions in my brain (plenty of IED's and land mines...something like that).

I'm very divergent in my thinking and have always had stoner humor, regardless of cannabis use. Having tried edibles, vaping, hash and cannabis of all flavors in between, I realize more than ever that cannabis is really a completely different drug (IME) depending on the strain and "premorbid" mood.

Let me be the first one to welcome you. Texas is a great place in my book, would be in prison if it wasn't for the greatest Texas cop ever.

Thanks for the welcome! Glad to hear the law was good to you in Tejas. I've never been arrested, but I know it's the "luck of the draw" when it comes to an officer's orientation.

So an update on my cannabis. It's not as depressive as I thought, but in stereotypical indica style, it's best to have in the evening. I will also look into creating edibles.

I was lucky it was 2 am and the only one on the road, I think he was just glad I stopped.

Edibles are the only way I've ever had an enjoyable experience with cannabis.
