Heyguise! xD

I am a 20-something year old guy from Canada. I have used drugs (mainly stimulants) occasionally. However, in February I was diagnosed with Machado-Joseph Disease, Type I, an incurable disease I inherited from my father's side. Since then, I have dropped out of school, lost many friends (mainly me pushing them away, really), and reduced myself to a recluse, drifting on and off from cocaine and Ritalin abuse. I really enjoy them, as I find them calming beyond belief. They act on my reward system which really overcompensate for the little number of friends I've had in life. I by no means lack qualities. I know I am intelligent, goodlooking, and very kind towards others, but at this point I want to "meet" like-minded individuals, who do not judge, and mainly because I cannot discuss these problems with my friends. I know this website doesn't openly condone drug abuse, and it is mainly for "research." I work at a PR firm (as a writer. Might quit soon, though..) and I enjoy videogames, especially while under the influence.

I am looking forward to meeting you guys and learning more about stuff.

wow you sound a lot like myself! I don't have the disease you talked about but I am also primarily a loner type of person.

If you like video games under the influence, *please* check out my Half Life Series thread in Sports & Gaming. It is really well done and the most fun video game I have ever played. =D

Finally, welcome to Bluelight! Last piece of advice: keep your job. At worst, reduce the numbr of hours before quitting completely. :)

I read up on your disease and I am sorry to hear that you have it, I understand how scary such a diagnosis can be but I hope you can still live the life you want to, and I also hope that with time, medical advancements will at the very least help reduce the negative symptoms.
