How young is too young?

Started 14, I think much earlier for me personally and it would have been a mistake, I did it at just the right time. No regrets. I wanted to smoke since like 11, everyone is curious, but in retrospect I'm glad I didn't.

That doesn't mean that is the right age for everyone else. That was when I think I really matured mentally, about halfway through froshy year.

I started at 17, and wish I hadn't. I abused pot, just like I did with every other psychoactive I could get my hands on.

I wish I had waited another couple of years. It wasn't until I was 19 that I had my consumption down to responsible levels, and wasn't blowing all of my cash.

If pot were legal and I had to put an age on it, I guess I'd say 19-21... I was definitely much more mature at 19 than I was at any other point prior. Not sure what it was... something just clicked.

Anyways, everyone have fun, be responsible, and stay safe.

I turn 16 in a few days and I've been smoking herb for about half a year now. The first few months I smoked it was pretty much daily/ever other day, that was during the summer thought. Now thats its the school year I only really smoke once or twice a week on the weekends and if I do smoke during the week I'll make sure I have all my homework finished first. Maintaining a good B+ average. :)

i turned 18 last month and have been smoking since 13. Kind of just makes it harder to get the desired effects every year after.. not koo0l

I started smoking weed during my summer going into 9th grade. I didnt start smoking daily until my senior year though. Gradually, I started smoking more and now I smoke almost everyday. I dont think I started at too young of an age but I do regret starting at that time. Now, whiles Im applying to colleges I look over my transcripts and know that I could have done better if I had used my time to do more of my schoolwork and spent less time doing/seeking/thinking about drugs. I know I could have applied myself enough to get into the college of my choice but I slacked a little. Now dont get me wrong, its not like I have bad grades in any way. I have good enough grades to get into good colleges but I cant go back and study to get into that great one. I think pot sidetracks people from what is important. Throughout highschool my friends dad kept telling us moderation is the key and now I know what he was talking about.

I startet doing coke at 13 going on 14, did acid twice right before I turned 14 and started smoking weed right after my 14th b-day.. don't ask, I had an irresponsible older cousin... I don't regreat any of it tho. Oh and I tried to smoke weeed before the coke and cid but couldn't inhale or it woulda been first.

i started right before i turned 17 and im fine with that. maybe if i started smoking weed earlier it wouldve been better cause if i was younger i wouldnt have been so eager to try every drug i could get my hands on. i got into drugs very quickly. i wasnt smoking weed long before i was dropping acid every weekend with my friends and snorting IMO too much coke. if i started smoking weed at a younger age then i prolly wouldnt have done so many different drugs in large amounts in such a short peroid of time.

First time I smoked pot was in 7th grade when I was 12 years old. I actually didn't get high until 2 years later when I had an edible. The high before that was really weird, I don't know why but I would feel different for a couple days but I don't ever remember being high after smoking like I do now, As I grew older and smoked more, the high became what it should be.

Anyways, I don't think a person should be smoking anything until their 18 since they are rapidly developing before and also after then, but 18 is when a person becomes an adult in America. Since I did it I can't tell people not to smoke weed until their 18 but weed and many other drugs helped me to not do as good as I could've in school.

id say 16 is the youngest that someone should start. however a friend of mine started at 12 and hes quite normal now.

I first tried it at 11,
but i never got into the habit of using regularly til i was 16 or so.
at such a young age it was difficult to maintain connections as to where to get it.
but everyone is different.
i bought my sister a pipe for her 14th birthday so that's about where i think it should be for casual use since she doesn't smoke very often.
i don't think it's wise for anyone to use every single day.
plus i get waaaay higher if i only smoke once a week or two.

Agreed. Anytime before adulthood is too young. Kids simply do not have the restraint and proper judgement to use any psychoactive drug (not under a doctor's supervision) in a way that does not become problematic or interfere with their development.

I'll only tell any kids I have how I truly feel about drugs when they're all done with high school. If I catch one of them toking at 15 or 16, they'll think I'm a Puritain by the way I punish them.

I started smoking pot when i was 11, started rolling when i was 12

I dont regret it, and i smoke weed once a week generally, sometimes daily use

i think it just really depends on the kids maturity level. i have a cousin who is 13 and no way in hell do i think hes ready.

being high is fun though, so why not?

The first time I smoked up I was 8. Started reguarly around 11. I'm not gonna sit here and tell you 13 is too young. In fact, it's a perfect age.

I started at 13. Im 30 now and wish i never had touched the stuff. How young is too young... anywhere before 18-24. Habit forming drugs should really only be used by adults with a strong sense of identity and focus. Otherwise you risk derailing your future success (whatever that means to you) and happiness.

well im 16 and its been a little less than a year that ive been smoking. Started when I was 15 though. I think that it depends on the person and if they really think how bad the consequences can be of smoking for a long time and can limit themselves based on it.
