Man, hydro use to give me a great high. I just took hydro for the first time in years around 70 mg and NADA... Not even a slight mood lift. I have a tolerance of course around 2 mg sub but I haven't took my sub since Sunday afternoon.

Hydrocodone is around the potency of morphine but your suboxone probably antagonised the effect, Buprenorphine half-life is very long so even if you took it a few days ago it still may block opioids.

I agree with quare. More than likely the sub was still in your body and it prevented the hydro from being metabolized properly. However, lets say the sub wasn't the problem: if you've been doing 2mg of subs regularly but stopped long enough for the naloxone to be out of your body, 2mg of buprenorphine is equal to 80mg of hydrocodone. That being the case you could have built a tolerance (equal to 80mgs of hydrocodone) outside of the naloxone in the subs interfering and you only took 70mg. Considering both factors it's easy to see why you didn't get a good high. You would have needed to take 120mg+ to get a strong buzz going, assuming the naloxone wasn't interfering, maybe more.

I can't imagine 2 mg from 3 days ago, even if you take 2 mg daily for a long time prior to that, is doing that much to block the high.

But yeah if you are use to 2 mg of Sub I could see 70 mg of hydro not being the most jaw dropping experience. I would think you would still get decently high off it. Did you do a CWE? if so maybe a lot was lost in the process. That was the one thing I hated about hydro, can't get it without all that APAP and I hate not knowing how much I lose doing a CWE. Still was a better idea than eating like 3 grams of APAP.

I also found hydro a lot weaker in comparison to oxycodone mg:mg, like a lot more than the supposed 1.5:1 ratio. This is before my tolerance required a CWE, when I could pop a few percs/vics and get a decent high. I would rather eat 2 5 mg percs than 2 10 mg vics.

I few month ago I post a thread about metabolite in ADD and Sekio told me that a drugs takes about 7 half-life to be unable to be detected in the urine. Buprenorphine have a half-life of 70h this mean it can takes as long as 20 days to be completely out of the body. I dont see how it cant be still blocking the high. Buprenorphine it self is agonist/antagonist mixed.

It's not weak by any stretch of the imagination..
I take 10mg lortab (generic) for back pain, I'm prescribed 2 a day but usually take between 5 and 8.

When I first took hydro 20mg would have me feelig great, but my tolerance has skyrocketed due to my abuse that they now seem "weak" indeed but that is sure as shit my tolerance.

I honestly prefer codeine I think its an all around better and safer painkiller. For me anyway.

The only real difference is hydrocodone gets metabolized into hydromorphone (dilaudid) and codeine to morphine.

Even when I used to snoret 8mg dilaudid tabs I felt like the dose required to acheive suffecient pain relief was far higher than the dose that provided euphoria..so by the time I did enough to kill the pain I was quite high nearly nodding.
With codeine/morphine i notice a relief of pain before any feelings of euphoria or nodding.
Although weaker mg for mg codeine is far superior IMHO.

It's funny doctors always use lortab as the go-to for back pain, but in reality is rather have tylenol 4.
