I hope someone answers this one...this forum is so dead quiet.

Here it goes : I now avoid to buy any red pills because I find it
impossible to tell if there is a primary amine present with robadope.
The red coloring in the pill makes the reagent reddish....so how can I tell
if a reaction is going on????

the dye is not supposed to interfere with the color change that comes with the test. If the color changes from the dye with the first solution you should still be able to see a change when you add the buffer.

thanks

Many thanks...
My problem was that I was putting the reagents together (robadope+buffer),
and then I was dropping scrapings in it. The red from the pill was coloring it.

Now If I put robadope+scrapings, the scrapings will give an additional tint
of red which I can use as a reference. I'll then add the buffer and look for a reaction.

Technically your suppose to do scrappings, agent, buffer - but this is good to know, because I have been thinking of adding the scrappings last because the dropers suck.

With one-part tests (e.g. Marquis) it works very well to scrape the tablet onto the reagent in my experience. But I have noticed that the two-part reagents seem to work best when the substance being tested is already on the plate.
