how to tell amphetamines and meth apart

my dealer says he gave me meth...
I've never had speed, nor meth. I only had what he gave me, so I can't tell them apart...
is there some way (like duration) to tell them apart when u have them in hand??
it's a fine white powder...cut up to fuck, probably...

basically (as i understand it) "speed" is dexedrine or something similar - it is pharmaceutical, prescribed by a Dr - it is a pill.
"meth" is not pharmaceutical, it is usually in powder/crystal form, and it is what is being sold by your dealer.
they are both related as they are both amphetamines, i believe that actual meth would be much longer lasting - is that correct anyone?

The thing is, I'm not in the US...I'm in south america, and I thought the speed situation could be similar to europe's...
I mean, all over europe you get amphetamine sulphate when buy speed, in the US it's methamphetamine.
The peak experience is like 3-4 hours followed by a VERY long overstimulated feeling, which can last for like 4-6 hours..

Yup I'm in the same situation, where I am speed refers to amphetamines and from personal experience does not generally come in pill form (I've never had a speed pill bfore, discounting "Bunk" e pills )
No one I hang with seems to know for sure the difference between speed and meth.
Check out the "Amphetamine vs Meth" thread, they describe the amphetamine experience as being more jittery and agitated, while meth is more euphoric, less jittery.
Last weekend I had some "speed" that made me really happy, and not jittery and agitated like I usually get, I'm guessing it was Meth bcause I've never had that experience bfore on speed.

The other thing I just thought of was that until last weekend all the speed I've had has been a small amount of very moist off-white crystal substance.
Last weekend I got a white powder, I just assumed it was the regular stuff cut w/ glucose or something, but maybe not because the effects were quite different.
From what I understand Meth is more valuable so I can't think why anyone would have given me meth as opposed to speed, but maybe thay just gave me half as much and cut it up a ton or something....

meth is longer lasting and way more expensive than regular amphetamine. it'd be hard to tell which is which without trying.I also wanted to add that there is pharmaceutical methamphetamine too, it's called desoxyn.

If your in Australia it'll almost always be meth .
