how to remove caffeine from your MDMA

Found this thread through google.

Thank you for the information, its proved very, very invaluable. :) It works. Plain and simple.

It even works with homemade anhydrous acetone, but probably not as pure as lab grade.
 
Holy shit, necrobump! What the hell has Le Junk been up to these days anyways?

It's unfortunate to see all of the other additives in MDMA pills these days than the previously common caffiene/aspirin/meth. I wonder what will happen to MDMA, Honestly.

Its very simple, business market rules.

Demand exceeds supply, as simple as that

and I too wonder whats the point in going trough all this trouble for some lame caffeine..

caffeine isnt that much of a stimulant, you can still sleep unless youre very sensitive to it

The latter is much better. Anhydrous magnesium sulphate, roughly 20 grams per liter of acetone should be sufficient. Shake well for about 2 minutes and then either filter or let settle. If letting settle, never extract any acetone from anywhere near the bottom of the can.

Could I use a coffee filter to filter this? Or do I need a strainer of some sort?
 
Le Junk, if you have time could you please write a new tut of all the ways you know to remove the common known adulterants in pills, that would be very very nice thankyou love you :P

For example meth,chalk,caffene,amphets, etc

Some of the questions about why one would want to remove caffeine would make me wonder if the user has had much experience with caffeine, amphetamine and methamphetamine. Now I can understand this coming from people who live in North America as methamphetamine is heavily demonised in the media and cocaine is much more accepted, dirt cheap and readily available. To get right to the point without even comparing the stimulant properties it is in my opinion that caffeine is more likely to irritate the stomach and cause nausea or at least queasiness in users more than amphetamine, cocaine or even methamphetamine. Pure pharmaceutical grade caffeine irritates the stomach at 100mg+ which is the normal recommended dosage (and only lasts a few hours if you are really tired before you will need more and endure more stomach irritation). Anyone who has bought a bottle of No Doz tablets and used them to stay awake at work more than a few times will be able to tell you that. You need to have food in your stomach otherwise you'll feel queasy or a bit nauseous. If you've every gone out clubbing and taken 400mg or more over the night and not kept your stomach full of food you'll probably feel like a nauseous mess by the end of the night and not want to touch caffeine again for quite a while. The usual street grade amphetamine (and the one time I did base) I have found does not make me feel queasy or if anything only a very small amount. In total amphetamine is a fairly controllable and pleasant stimulant even after a couple of days of use. Methamphetamine on the other hand even the more pure looking crystals I've had always usually give me a bit of a bloated, gassy feeling an hour or so after doing it and irritates my stomach. The stimulant properties of meth I usually find has a lot more side effects than amphetamine or at best can be a fickle bitch. If I have only a tiny amount (or very highly cut meth) I may not get too much paranoia and anxiety and but will still be quite tense. I can sometimes enjoy it. Just a little too much and I'm usually too stimlated for way too long. I can't handle the intense anxious/skechy/paranoid feelings. I think the high level of anxiety I often get with a standard dose of meth only makes any stomach queasiness worse. All in all I much prefer amphetamine or even meth to caffeine.

I think acetone is controlled in some countries. I have noticed an online seller I looked at that requires specific business I.D. for acetone just like their glasswear but not for their other ordinary products. I think it's safe to assume that either they or the country the operate in is controlling the substance. If anyone has any specifics on the status of Acetone in their country please post it here. I would not want someone to invoke action of the federal police and possible intent to manufacture charges for simply trying to purify (and use good harm reduction) on their personal stuff.

Also I have heard that one can turn standard acetone into the anhydrous stuff by mixing with DampRid. Is this true? If so can we get a little more detail? The MSDS says the product contains around 85% CaCl and up to 5% NaCl with KCl. It says the LD50 in rats was 1000mg per/kg so yeah I guess this means fairly non toxic if a little is left in the final product. I can see you said above that CaCl doesn't work as well as MgSO but can you please expand on that. DampRid is much more easily available and very cheap I don't care if I have to use a whole 1ltr pack of DampRid to make the acetone anydrous will the end product be good quality anhydrous acetone? Thanks for all your help.

P.S. might I also point out that an acetone wash should be useful for removing solvents and crap left over from the synthesis at least this is what a similar thread on this site says about using an acetone was to purify meth. My small amount of contact with contact with MDMA crystals and powder over the years I have seen stuff ranging from a pure looking white powder to a goldern yellowish/orange crystals to even a dirty brown looking powder. Not being able to see the colour of the MDMA in pressed pills always makes me a bit nervous. An acetone wash would be a very good idea.
 
I never thought anyone really has or would waste time binding mdma with piperazines

Any two stimulants are a contraindication. Making caffeine potentially much more dangerous. Some are more sensitive to caffeine, but mixing any two stimulants, well, the whole is more than the sum of it's parts. :/

Molly seems to be getting more popular (at least in my neck of the woods; southern WA, northern OR) just seek that over "pressies"
 
No plastic funnel!

Please don't use a plastic funnel for this procedure. Use a glass funnel, or simply secure a coffee filter around the top of a pint-sized beer glass, with a rubber band, leaving some sag so that it hangs down into the glass.

Pouring acetone over plastic will probably result in you getting some nasty stuff in your extract. It could be visibly yucky, or it could just break down the plastic enough to load you up with some ugly carcinogens. I'm not saying that this is the case for every plastic, but really, how are you going to know about the polymers used in your cheap plastic funnel?

High density polyethylene (HDPE) funnels are regularly used in labs with no consquence. Dn't use a polycarbonate funnel or it will melt.
 
You aren't keeping the acetone, plastic isn't a worry in this case.
Also, after removing the still wet filter (gloves!) from the funnel, place it inside of a piece of paper towel or another filter and soak the remaining acetone up from the outside of your MDMA filter. Repeat as needed until no longer wet to touch. This will both remove remaining acetone (which would evaporate on the filter possibly leaving behind some of the adulterant you were trying to remove) and also greatly speed up the time until you have a dry finished product.
And please, if you do go out and make the effort to get lab-grade anhydrous acetone, don't leave the can open for even a second more than you have to. Shit sucks in water from the air immediately.

And to anyone looking to remove other adulterants: study and learn about Acid/Base extractions, recrystalization, and the properties of polar and non-polar solvents. Even if LeJunk posted a step-by-step procedure for eradicating binders, coloring, piperazines, meth, DMAA, ephedrine, (insert here), you need to know how all of that works or you will fuck it up or at the very least lose a lot of product. The acetone wash is the easiest and most basic of the cleaning steps, but it gets much harder from there on.
