How to judge good weed from bad

Hi im new here so bear with us....

rite so i started smoking bud about 5 months ago (im way passed school guys)
with a friend after refusing if for about 5 years.

Anyway bud has always been quite hard to get whereever ive been which is annoying cos ive statrted smoking it alot.

For a while now only stuff availiable is referred to as "Thai" or "Jamaican" Its dark green and doesnt really have all that much THC crystals like stuff, has seeds n is very compact. So its bush weed no proper chronic anywhere.

So basically any advice for a newbie smoker...:)

Just wanted to add that im not looking to score especially not through/from anyone here, just a way of knowing good from bad <SNIP>

This seems like a post asking to score. I dunno if this is ok on the board.

Best advice is trying to hang out/meet stoners to be friends with. Eventually you will find a connection.

For the most part, the best "test" is going to be your own perception. Often, bud that looks and smells "good" will be potent. Avoid anything that appears ground up, you want solid buds. Any stem needs to be dry enough to snap when bent. Avoid weed that smells like lawn clippings or has any unpleasant aroma.
 
Good looking buds may turn out not so great, while shittier looking buds sometimes turn out to be very strong.

But generally speaking, appearance and smell are the two easiest ways to determine the quality of your weed. Particularly smell. We all know that feeling of buying a bag of weed, opening it up and smelling that beautiful smell distinct to marijuana and just thinking "mmmmmm, delicious"... lol

And obviously the less seeds, stems, leaves the better... Quality bud will rarely have any of that in the bag.
 
idk i get the dankiest stankiest bud and theres a lot of stems. the best way to tell is touch it... if you have experience you can tell less sticky from more sticky.

no, you're not in the least bit anonymous on the internet. if you incriminate yourself or anyone else the authorites know exactly who you are, probably some of those scumbag virus writers (who should be executed) do too with spyware and shit.

If your a new smoker great bud will pretty much destroy you so i wouldnt be to specific about getting the best. Just try it (im in aus so that makes a difference)

I had the thought that if you were a new smoker in the us you might be buy off street dealers? Well not sure if i can help you there, probably pot luck
 
Well this is my personal guide:
Check weed potency by sniffing it without opening the bag if it smells outside of a normal baggy you have some pretty nice stuff.
Make sure the weed is sticky not DAMP! If weed has not been dried out correctly it will go moldy in the light which moldy weed is not pleasant. You can tell this by when you are smoking it, it tends to make an odd crackling noise.
Make sure the leafs IE shaders (the none bud leafs) Have been trimmed off properly as these leafs can give you headache
If the weed tastes slightly odd to normal weed it might of not been washed out properly and still have chemicals in it just note that to your dealer so the grower can have an extra day or two washing it out next time.
Make sure there are no brown bits this could be signs of bud rot YUCK!

Last but not least when taking it out the bag I always rub my finger over the crystals to make sure there is no iching or cuts on my fingers and it just feels kind of rubbery

experience, lol .. tried and true expert stoner method. Sucks to get ripped off a few times but it's worth a mil in the long run ;) ... really j/k and wish you luck but I think most stoners would agree in general.
 
First of all, you are not getting Jamacian or Thai weed, you are getting bricked weed from Mexico or at BEST (you are not) getting beasters from CA. If it's as compact as you are elluding, it's bricked mids. It can be sticky and stinky, but they appear to have no glistening THC crystals. I hope you are not paying headies prices.

If you are tired of this slow-stupid minded high which requires copious smoking, take all your bud (lets say 1-2 ounces) and turn it into oil for brownies. Eat 2 brownies and clear your schedule.
 
weed with lots of seeds and stems is often quite weak, good weed is covered in white crystals often, allthough there are products that are used to make it look like the weed is covered by thc crystals when really its cutting material...

personnally i enjoy "natty" weed or bush weed as you call it, it has a chilled out high and doesn't get you completely monged...
 
Why don't you collect your seeds... and grow them!? Yay!!
Then you can regulate what goes into your weed... it's definitely not cut with a load of shit and you know everything about your smoke. It's easy as pie... don't listen to all that crap they say on growing websites: if you can grow tomatoes, you can grow weed. Just treat them the same. That was my plan anyway. Disappointment arose when I found I grew two BOYS :'(

Aww gutted! I was about to say you might get a pesky male, but no you do need to do a lot of what it says on grow sites to get good shit...

Its like giving a baby hot chilies from birth you need to get the water and right lights, you put love in you get love out its pretty easy to do it once your in a cycle you also have to "turn" them from vedge to bloom stage

i was just commenting last night how good my nose is. this dude walks past me smokin a joint, and from an entire block away, i knew it was schwag. I can smell the quality of bud the moment its lit up and exhaled. Ive also been smoking regularly for over a decade.
