Stimulants How to hit a rolling vein?

The veins in my feet are so easy to hit, yet they roll really bad. How do I hit them? I've never learned how to hit rolling veins, yet I hate to waste my feet veins since they're easy to hit.
Any tips on hitting them successfully without them rolling after I register would be fantastic.

I use 31g short tip needles.

I don't have rolling veins but I've always had small veins that are pretty deep except for a few. I use 30 gauge short tip syringes which i find are the easiest to hit with because their is less chance of poking through a vein and the small needle size doesn't make the vein move nearly as much.

I completely agree with what both of the people above me said. My hand/feet veins roll BAD so I either actually HOLD them with my fingers so they can't go anywhere and/or use the 30 gauge needles. Shorter tip needles are WAY better for rolling veins and smaller veins.

Any other tips? I'm trying to hit veins on my inner forearm that don't pop up. If I squeeze my arm between my knees in a way that stretches the skin, will that work? I can hit the vein and register, but it rolls while I'm injecting. Do I need to inject super slow (That's what I've been doing) or is it better to do it quick?

^^

Injecting slower is always better. Does less damage and you have more control.

There really is no special technique to hit rolling veins. Hitting a vein is hitting a vein. But, having a fresh sharp syringe helps. A dull one will be a lot harder to hit a roller with.

Also, work on your angles.. different veins require different angles in order to hit, and with rolling veins, often times that angle changes.

Sometimes I go in from the side, watch and puncture it, then I'll move the needle to draw it straight and press the needle further in so I can get a decent register. In other words, start from the side and push into it and you're good to go from there once you figure it out.
