Benzos How to gauge how much etizolam is safe?

If I take etizolam by itself, I can feel the effect of 2mg and stay awake. Taking a 3rd mg will give me a strong urge to sleep.

If I take etizolam for a comedown off a stimulant (or stimulating psychedelic), 3mg is not enough to overcome the stimulation and get to sleep. Is there a way to judge how much additional is safe to take? The last time I did this, I took 3mg, then waited about 30 min and checked my heart rate; if still substantially high (over 100), then I'd take another mg and wait another 30 min. ...repeat until drowsy or heart rate has lowered closer to normal. Is this a safe approach? Is there another way that I could find the right amount more quickly?

I know the best harm reduction is to just deal with the insomnia or not take a stim in the first place, but I'd like feedback on how to do this safely if I'm really trying to sleep.

Thanks

PS I don't let myself use etizolam more than once a week - want to make sure I don't develop tolerance or dependence.

The best HR advise is to wait it out. At least etizolam is much shorter-action than phenaz.

Benzodiazepines are pretty physically benign, the problem is that in high doses they cause blackouts, paradoxical stimulation, and reckless behaviour in some individuals.

It takes approx. 2h for etizolam to fully develop it's effects (being fully absorbed by the body), so taking 1mg every 30mins. is defo not a good idea.
